Well from my first hand experience...

Jeezy - Got a ghostwriter from Miami. I have personally seen the written lyrics before he ever recorded them. One time i saw the verse to "Keep it movin" from the mixtape months before I heard the song.

Nas - Same cat wrote a few verses for Nas.

Dre - The dude from Cool and Dre, same cat from Miami write this n*gga sh*t.

Dude told me he wrote for many more but he just cash out instead of trying to get d*cked around for his money.

It's funny cause when listening to music w/o seeing a video I sometime be like damn so and so spit. Then to find it was actually someone be having me trip. For the thread starter thanks for exposing this though. I mean for a artist who isn't none at all they would need some help there is no problem in that. The thing is would they do the same thing for some other artist.

Why is it so hard to believe? Boxden is always talking about what's real and what's fake about these rappers. You shouldn't be suprised when it comes to this.

BTW, Puff readily admits he has ghostwriters. So there's no need to question him about it. He's admitted that The Lox, Common, Pharoe Monch and many more have written material for him. So it ain't no secret about Puff.

So Mase wrote "I Just Wanna Love You" by Jay-Z?? First, it doesnt sound like sh*t Mase has ever written, its not his flow at all and two, this was after Mase ran to Atlanta. I dont believe it.

no doubt..."ghost writing" is an essential thing in music... I have a group and it would only be selfish for us all to write our own verses..so it may be a suggestion to change wording some one might have the hook etc.

How is that selfish? Is it rap? Cuz i feel each person should write their own sh*t. Unless yall best friends and you just wanna bring them along. But other than that, if they can't write, what's the point of being a rapper.

I have no problem with an artist getting a.ssistance (change a word here or there, say it like this instead of that, etc.), but when a n*gga flat out write's your whole 16 bars I think that's corny. This is rap. A competitive sport with massive ego's. n*gga's claim to be the best ever n sh*t. You cannot and I repeat cannot let a n*gga put whole verses down for you. That sh*t is lame. This isn't R & B this is Rap n*ggas. I can see why puff or dre has them cus they're not actual rappers, but for these other dude's I think it's flat out corny. I thought this was a music genre based off SKILLS and actual TALENT.

^^^^^^ SO let me ask u a question do you listen to R&B music? If so crak one the booklets open and read that. It's a shame that some of you cats don't beleave this.... How is it so impossible for an upcoming artist write for some one how doesn't have a lot a materal to begin with. People just don't know comparing to the old Kiss (BAD BOY AND WARLOCs days) Kiss had a different flow. Some artist just add there swag to it and that's how it sells get over it every uses them sometimes. And for the record I do like Biggie.

If you would have read my post correctly I clearly stated that "THIS IS NOT R&B THIS IS RAP n*ggaS" meaning of course R&B artists are going to have song writers. Most R&B artists get signed off of their vocal abilities. That's understandable. Rap is way different. This is a music genre thats supposed to be based off pure talent and skill mainly SONG WRITING abilities, flow, and style. I just find it corny that n*ggas have people penning whole verses or songs for them. Rap is a competitive sport fam. You can't claim to be the best when someone else wrote ur sh*t. Simple as that. THIS IS RAP.

R&B is based on vocal ability. People dont say "Man Beyonces lyrics are sick" they say "That girl can sing her a.ss off". Rap is different. People listen to rappers to hear the lyrics, or beat in some cases. Look at it like this. I have a good eye for colors, so I go to the art store, buy the canvas, buy the brushes, and buy a bunch of pastel colors and I give them to Nelson Jones and he makes a masterpeice. Thats how R&B is. With rap you have to put everything together yourself and make the masterpeice yourself. You cant have somebody paint it for you and put your name on it, thats not whats up.
