The closer to the basket the miss is, the less effective the transition offense becomes. Transition defense is all in the way you run the offense.
I dig it, but a miss is a miss, and the Suns move quickly, and have great ball rotation. Nash can drive and kick the sh*t to Amare, Diaw, Marion, Bell, Barbosa all day, and if they're not open, he's got a wicked jumpshot too.

Close misses also leads to offensive boards. The Spurs crashed the glass hard on the Suns all season long, won two out of three because of it. When any team attack the Suns in the paint, there will be a ton of garbage points left around.

If the Spurs can shut down that pick and roll with Nash and Amare, this won't even be a series.

It's not really about being consistent on defense, the Suns offense strives off of long rebounds and turnovers. When you play clean ball, and attack the paint, the Suns lose. Point blank.

If you give the Suns nothing to work with, they will falter in the half court offense. Their shooters won't be in any rhythm to consistently hit threes and it will look very sloppy.

So thats your answer to why the Suns will beat the spurs

look dog
if you havent noticed the Spurs are consistant on Defence

everytime the Suns face a team that is consitan ton D ie;Houston, Spurs, Godlen State(yes they play defence)

they get crushed

im not saying it will be easy for the spurs but just because the "suns move quickly" doesnt mean they will win

plus Parker and ginobli are way more athletic then the Suns guards (besides Barbosa)
and dont even let me start on the Post presence match ups

I like to add that the Spurs also have depth which pheonix lacks

anyway Spurs in 6
Look... yeah that is my answer, basically what it boils down to IN MY OPINION is that...

The Suns Offense >>>>>>>>>>> The Spurs DEFENSE

will be great no doubt, i think this series will come down to finley and barry being able to contibute effectivley. finley was exposed last year against dallas on the defensive end we'll see if he can carry over his sucsess against denver over. manu and parker will be able to penetate at will as norm against a poor defense. can the suns get key stops in half court will be a big factor as well. gun to head would pick san antonio but wouldn't be suprised what happens. amare avereged 40 in 05 and it didn't matter. really think this series comes down to role players. spurs are 2 years older then last series as well.

be prepared to laugh, b/c the suns half court game is a joke. and they will be playing that way quite often , b/c of the defense.

I was going for Phoenix but I say San Antonio now, top D in the league. San Antonio vs. Golden State for WCF. I say San Antonio vs. Chicago for the Finals

Even though the Spurs beat them in '05. I never thought the Suns would win that series. This year is the first time I feel they have a chance to win. The Suns have homecourt so the first two games will be big for the Suns.
