USC head coach Lane Kiffin has yet to release an official end-of-spring depth chart but here is a breakdown of how things look for the Trojans as they head into the final week of spring:

Quarterback

Matt Barkley; Cody Kessler or Max Wittek

The only battle going on here is between Wittek and Kessler to be the No. 2 guy heading into the season. Nothing was decided this spring and the competition will carry over into fall. Jesse Scroggins put himself in a hole with academic issues that caused him to miss much of spring.

Tailback

Curtis McNeal; D.J. Morgan; Buck Allen

Itís easy to imagine that Tre Madden would have been right there with Morgan in terms of getting reps behind McNeal. Now Morgan will have that back-up role all to himself, at least until Allen shows what he can do. Allen has the last three practices of spring to give a lasting impression before the off-season.

Fullback

Soma Vainuku; Hunter Simmons

The good news is that Vainuku was solid and Simmons has been part of the program the past three years, so heís a very experienced walk-on who also saw time at tight end this spring.

Wide receiver

Robert Woods; Victor Blackwell; DeíVon Flournoy

Marqise Lee; George Farmer

Even though Woods missed all of spring and Farmer missed the vast majority of it, the receiver spot still gave some good updates. First off, Lee was the best player on the field for the Trojans. Secondly, Blackwell and Flournoy both took advantage of the extended work and proved that this group has some pretty decent depth.

Tight end

Randall Telfer or Xavier Grimble; Junior Pomee; Christian Thomas

Injuries hit the tight end spot hard, but we saw enough from Telfer to know that his game has really grown. Grimble is right there too and the little bit we saw from Pomee was encouraging. Should be a deep and talented group come fall.

Offensive line

LT Aundrey Walker; Nathan Guertler

LG Marcus Martin; Cyrus Hobbi

C Khaled Holmes; Abe Markowitz

RG John Martinez; Jeremy Galten

RT Kevin Graf; David Garness

One of the biggest pieces of news to come from spring was the move of Walker to LT and Graf to RT. It was supposed to be a competition, but once Walker got moved to the left side he has stayed put despite some struggles. Kiffin has mentioned the physical potential of a Walker-Martin pairing on the left side as something that can be very effective. Hobbi and Markowitz offer a pair of versatile options along the interior of the line.

Defensive line

DE Devon Kennard; Greg Townsend

DT George Uko; Zack Kusnir

NG J.R. Tavai or Antwaun Woods; Cody Temple

DE Wes Horton; Kevin Greene; Morgan Breslin

The outside spots are set with Kennard and Horton, while Uko solidified his spot at the DT position. The coaches took a look at Townsend in the middle but eventually moved him back outside, so donít be surprised if Leonard Williams ends up behind Uko in the fall. The NG competition will likely continue into fall with all three options being in the mix.

Linebacker

WLB Hayes Pullard; Anthony Sarao

MLB Lamar Dawson; Scott Starr

SLB Dion Bailey; Tony Burnett; Marquis Simmons

The coaches took a gamble when they moved Madden to offense, as he was likely the most productive reserve at linebacker. The switch of Burnett from safety to linebacker could end up providing a nice alternative, however, as Burnett is a good tackler with speed, two of the traits that allowed Bailey to make a similar position switch last year.

Defensive back

CB Nickell Robey; Brian Baucham; Ryan Henderson

CB Isiah Wiley; Anthony Brown; Torin Harris

FS T.J. McDonald; Drew McAllister

SS Jawanza Starling; Demetrius Wright

The secondary was perhaps the deepest unit on the field this spring. Lots of good options, but perhaps none more surprising that Baucham, who made an immediate impact upon his return early in spring. The corner spot could get even more of a boost when Harris returns and if Joshua Shaw is ruled eligible and placed at corner.

Just heard Lynch is transferring from ND after 1 season

By far they're best player, the reasons being reported is that he had some run in with BK and missed Florida.

If it indicates alot of rotation in the secondary (outside of TJ Mac), I'm ALL for that. That way they won't know when we throw Nickell in there. They used to try to pick on him at first until he started coming up with interceptions. Now that they can't underestimate him for his size he appears as big as anybody else in the secondary. Rotate and you don't know when or where you can throw. I'm sure Monte is gonna still use him alot but if we're gonna be considering him for more punt returns then I'm concerned about the wear and tear.

No thanks Tee we don't need any more corners right now. Should of got in the Exclusive 75 while he could.

Cravens announcing in June on his mom birthday his entire fam are Trojans & I doubt he commits anywhere else on her bday. Recruiting is coming along nicely, as I suspected these dudes are seeing the limited scholly's and are trying to get in early. Still going to suck when 10 kids with the talent to play for USC will have to go to other Pac12 schools
