i'm gonna guess the reason for this is less calories...but is this all that matters?
if it is, then why can't i just drink beer and burn those calories at the gym the next day? am i in a good situation if i do that?

Beer gives you a lot of carbs which is what gives you the belly. Generally, you need a lot more beer to get drunk as opposed to vodka and such.

But if you're working out, beer is probably the worst thing you can possibly drink. Very high in calories and carbs and it does dehydrate your body as well.

i think there is about 100 calories in a shot of vodka, and about 100 in a light beer. It might just be me, but i always drink more then i should with mixed drinks then beer. So i would say beer is better mainly because its easier to control how much you drink

As far as I know, there's been no proven correlation between beer and beer bellies... Meaning, it's not specifically beer that makes you a fat sloppy fu*k...

All the calories taken in from alcohol, mixed with all the high-carb, high-fat foods that accompany drinking, as well as the dietary implications in the days surrounding the drinking (ever get up at 9AM, have six meals and lifts weights the day after?) are to blame... Calories from alcohol are also processed in the liver, which means they are prioritised by the body, which again slows down the processing of other calories (the aforementioned carbs and fats), leading to a greater risk of fat gain...

Alcohol also messes with your hormonal balance, dehydrates you and, in the long run, k!lls you...

Bottomline, if you're lifting weights and are serious about it, don't drink...

vodka has about 75 calories per shot. the beer belly is a myth what actually makes u gain weight is that late night food binge at 2am after u are done drinking. if u drink in moderation and excercise u will be fine

Yea, 7 cals per gram... So a 35cl bottle of vodka, at 40% alcohol, contains 980 calories...
