The San Diego Chargers Thread.

Where my fellow Bolts fans at?

Even with the ending 2006 was dope but with the loss of Cameron, Philips, and Marty I'm concerned about 2007. On the bright side I feel that Rivers, LT, and Merriman haven't even hit their prime yet which is scary. So what do y'all think next season will bring? I'm predicting a 13-3 record, a third AFC West championship in 4 years, and a Superbowl 42 win over the Eagles.

The man said "Fellow bolt fans"

But anyway I think that we have the youngest and talented team in the league and your right about those guys not reaching their prime yet.

I'm thinking another 13-3 or better and a super bowl 42 win over the 49ers

Yes, I said it 49ers

Your crazy, this is perfect. We wanted to keep the same system in place and now we hired the man that put the system in place. Ted Cotrell is a 3-4 guru and rivera will coach our young talent at LB

remember who Norv Turner was a head coach for, the raiders who are horrible and have a controlling owner and the redskins who are also horrible and have a younger version of Al davis

So look up the last time the redskins won their division
plus he was able to get alex smith, a guy with 11 int and 1 TD in his first year, to pass for over 3,000 with no type of recieving core. Also he was able to incorporate frank gore who led the nfc in yards and was third in the leage.
He also made Troy Aikman a hall of fame QB and Troy said it himself.

In 2001 (LT's rookie season) Norv Got us a 1,000 yard passer(flutie), 1,000 yard receiver(conway), and a 1,000 yard rusher(LT) which was the only time that this has happened in charger history and the first time it happened since Norv coached some guys you might Know named Aikman, Irvin, and Smith

So overall Im happy, AJ managed to put together who other than rivera can stay with us for years to come and help us to compete

We should've hired Turner as the offensive coordinator and Rivera as the defensive coordinator. Norv's track record as a head coach is atrocious.

think optismistic here.....Norv Turner is all offense and will turn Rivers into the next Aikman...hopefully Shelmon will lead a high scoring offense...Ted Cottrel is a mastermind at the 3-4 and on 3rd downs when we go with 4 down lineman, Rivera is a master at that.

Remember that norv has never coached a team with talent before, he always comes into teams that need him to rebuild so like oh boy said you should be optimistic and hope that the 3rd times a charm

Also rivera has never worked a 3-4 before so we couldn't afford to put him at D coordinator, but I wouldn't want him there anyway cause he'll be leaving next year and it will be easier to replace a LB coach

Oh yea and Its a big plus that we got the Shaun Phillips deal done, with godfrey and edwards leaving we're gonna be counting on these young LB's so hopefully Rivera can show them a thing or two

Well right on for saying that. But do you just wanna see some revenge, for 94'?

Naw Its not a revenge thing, its just that I feel the 49ers are the best team in the NFC point blank

Who really knows what will happen? The Chargers still have a sh*tload of talent. On offense and defense. I think the secondary is still a major concern. They should do well in the draft. This years corners aren't spectacular, but there are alot of mid level guys with talent. The front office also drafts EXCELLENT. The Bolts should claim the West, but I'm still not sure if they have what it takes to win in the playoffs. Norv Turner is a great OC, but we will have to see if he can turn it around as a head coach this year.

I agree with you, I think that all we need now is a good SS, a LB or two, and one or two recievers and we're set!!!!!!!

Yeah I know, I hope some how he drops but after what he did at the combine he's now the next best thing after Calvin Johnson

I'm a Tennesse Vols fan too so this would make me very happy

Dielman is the true meaning of loyalty, he could've made 10 million more dollars if he would of gone to the seahawks. He took the big pay cut because he wanted to stay with the chargers so bad, our O Line has so much chemistry. A.J Smith is responsible for that, cause he has such an eye for talent.

Dielman was an undrafted D Lineman and A.J signed him and put him on the other side and look at him now. That's one thing no one can take away from from A.J Smith, he is the best GM when it comes to finding talent in the league. He drafts guys that he knows will be starters after a few seasons and these guys don't end up being "Just Ok" starters, but they end up being beasts. Look at our entire O Line, we Only have like one guy over 26 and they've all been to pro bowls, That's Crazy!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say Smith is the best GM when it comes to spotting talent, but he is very good.
