It (Pacman) was given to him by his grandmother because at a young age he had a tendency to drink milk with the "voraciousness" of the video game character of the same name.

Great Write-Up About Jerry Jones Past Moves to Pick-Up Troubled Stars

ROFL@this part tho
In 1992, Jones hired close friend and former Oklahoma defensive coordinator Larry Lacewell as director of college scouting. Soon after starting the job, Lacewell took a call from a 49ers official who wanted to know whether the Cowboys were interested in a talented but troubled defensive end named Charles Haley.

"I'd honestly never heard of the guy," said Lacewell. "I think the note sat on my desk for three or four days before I finally walked it down to Jerry's office. When I told him what it was, he nearly dove over the desk."
thats why Dallas sucked d*ck after Johnson left, we had that dumb a.ss n*gga in charge of scouting, how are you not even familair with Charles Haley during that time period.... a beast pickup

Chris Johnson is growing on me more and more. Dude ran the fastest 40 time in the combine and was a top performer in some of the other workouts....probably has the best hands out of any other back in the draft too. I still like Jamaal Charles because I'm biased, and Felix has always been my pick for the 'Boys, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens...can't wait.

I like Chris Johnson if hes around in Round 2, He is nasty as lining up in the slot and coming out of the backfield to receive, great Bowl game last season too

Neck Surgery that he had last offseason is kind of a concern but I wouldnt be mad if we took him

I still want a DB Round 1 regardless of Pacman if Jenkins or DRC is on the board..... and I want Hardy@28, his stock has been going up recently and hes a great replacement for Owens to groom.... little bigger size then Owens but same make-up

Rumors of Roy Williams getting traded to Dallas on Draft Day and poppin again too

Getty Images/Gregory Shamus
Detroit receiver Roy Williams.

AUSTIN -- Detroit Lions receiver Roy Williams has heard all the talk and rumors about a possible draft-day trade to the Dallas Cowboys and said he is prepared for whatever happens.

The former Longhorn star -- who was in Austin over the weekend for the Texas Relays and the Michael Huff celebrity basketball game -- wants to stay in Detroit.

"Of course I want to stay in Detroit," Williams said. "Everybody wants to stay with the team that drafted them. They are telling me I am going to be a Lion for at least one more season. Thatís what I have on my mind."

Williams knows what heís been told by the Lions, but he also understands the business of the game. He recited the money the team has guaranteed to fellow Lions receiver Calvin Johnson. Williams is in the final year of his contract and the Lions have yet to approach him about an extension.

So even though he has been told he will be in Detroit next year, he understands there remains the question of "what are they going to do with me?"

"Could they pay me? Yes," Williams said. "Will they pay me? Thatís the question that needs to be answered.

ďIf I get franchised, I get franchised. If they want to go in another direction that is part of the business."

The Lions could put the franchise tag on Williams after the season, guaranteeing him roughly $9 million in 2009. But the question is not going away. Either then or now, Detroit will have to decide to commit a long-term contract to Williams or let him walk away.

The reason the question is coming up now is because the Cowboys are in search of a veteran receiver. And Williamsí uncertain status makes him a prime target for a possible draft-day trade. He is a Pro Bowl receiver who can put the ďwowĒ in the Cowboys offense that owner Jerry Jones promised next year and who is young enough to take over for Terrell Owens as the teamís go-to receiver in the years to come.

And if the Lions hope to get something in return for Williams rather than let him walk as a free agent and/or cause resentment by holding him hostage for a year with the franchise tag, this might be a prime opportunity.

"I have thought about all of that," Williams said. "I just do what I do. I am getting prepared for the season. I just want to play ball. If things donít work out, I wouldnít mind playing anywhere."

A source close to Williams said he wants play for the Cowboys if he wasnít in Detroit.

A politically correct Williams wouldnít go that far, saying "Man you know I canít answer that question."

When asked if he grew up a fan of the Cowboys in Odessa, he quipped "Of course, Iím from Texas."

Williams said he wouldnít have a problem playing with Owens or namesake safety Roy Williams.

"I could see myself playing with anybody," Williams said. "Everybody talks about T.O. All T.O. wants to do is win. If he donít get any balls and you win, you wonít hear nothing from him. But if you donít win, you are going to hear from him but that goes with any big-time receiver. You want to help your team win. If you donít, you are going to be (upset). And with Roy, at least I donít have to worry about that hit. They have a good football team."

Williams reiterated that his goal is to stay in Detroit, but admitted that he is somewhat frustrated about his uncertain future there.

"The only thing I can do is play ball," Williams said. "Itís a little disappointing. Thatís the nature of this business. Whatever they do with me, they do with me."

Suffice it to say, if the Lions ultimately do something with him, he wouldnít mind it being with the Cowboys.

You already know that's my ideal situation, bringin Roy to Dallas. And I'm still waiting for some Anquan Boldin news to pop up. Chad is still out there too, but I doubt the Bengals eat that cap penalty...on top of that, dude's 30.

If we don't trade 28, I like Sweed the most, but I doubt he falls to us. So the most logical to me would be Hardy...then Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly if Hardy's gone.

I agree corner should still be the 1st pick. Mckelvin's my #1 even though he'll be gone. DRC probably impressed himself into the top 10, and I'll have my fingers crossed that he doesn't. Mike Jenkins is the next best thing. Talib is good too, but I ain't a huge fan.

The thing I fear about getting a back is that most dudes in the 1st round would be a reach, but we pick 3rd to last in the 2nd, so Chris Johnson and Felix Jones could be gone before the 60's if we wait.

yeah I still like the idea of trading Roy Willaims (Safety) + some kind of pick 2nd or maybe 3rd for Chad Johnson

I know Chad is older but hes still a great player and hasnt missed a game since becoming a starter unlike both Boldin and Roy Williams, Roy Williams WR especially whos been hurt like 2 seasons

Cap hit woudnt be as serious since we move Roy Williams

that put outs WR Corp above the rest of the L and gives us room to draft DB and RB in the 1st Round

If we keep the Picks you gotta go Secondary there, maybe Kenny Phillips comes in to replace Roy Williams unless they feel comfortable moving Anthony Henry there who is great at playing zone coverage but lost a step so hes not as effective in Man-Coverage..... Reggie Smith would be a prototype pick her cause he can play both DB and Safety but hes a HUGE reach in Round 1, I dont think you can get the Safety play out of Jenkins/DRC/McKelvin

I wouldnt be mad if Dallas sits on the Early 1st Round Pick and tries to move it, maybe dangling a Brian Brohm/Joe Flacco pick out there..... some teams need QB Round 2 and could want to move up (Bears, Falcons, Ravens, Panthers ?)

then just make a move like we did with Quinn for a Future 1st Round + that teams 2nd round pick from that year

so Falcons for example

Dallas trades 22 Pick... Atlanta trades 34 pick and 1st Round in 09 draft

Dallas drafts DB/Safety @ 28 and then with 34 can go RB with one of the RB Prospects and it wont be such a big reach

Some news on Roy Williams (Safety) hes chancing his # back to 38 which was his # at OU.... says he wants to get back to his play back there, instead of changing his Jersey # he should change the # on the scale :thumbsdow

LMFAO @ that last line. The number on your fu*kin back doesn't make you comprehend zone concepts Roy...I'm surprised no one's told him that sh*t yet. All I know is, this is his LAST chance to get his sh*t together, and he's had too many last chances.

But back to the draft....I can definitely see us trading away 1 of those picks the same way we did last year. And if that's what happens I'm all for it. I would be just as excited to see them pick @ 32-36 rather than 22 or 28. That way we can get the cat we want without reaching.

I don't know how long ago it was, but Reggie Smith was probably my initial favorite as an early pick too, but for some reason people don't have him very high on their draft boards. I was reading that he allowed just 35 percent of the passes thrown his way to be completed, despite it being his first season as a full-time corner. AND, dude didn't allow a single touchdown.:wow: He only ran a 4.61 at his pro day, so I guess that kind of limits his versatility to just safety. Malcolm Kelly ran in the high 4.6's low 4.7's that same day,....so I took his @ss is off my receiver list. That leaves Sweed, Hardy and Thomas...Thomas is starting to grow on me though.

Yeah I read that Reggie Smith stat

No TD Allowed + only allowed 21 of 60 Passes in his zone to be completed (35%), he was a good a.ss punt returner at OU too + close to 80 tackles.... His lack of Make-up speed is the only real concern

I like him in Round 2 if hes there....

Devin Thomas is sick, I usually like 6'4+ Wideouts but I fu*ks with Devin Thomas, at this point its a reach to think he'll be there tho his stock keeps rising.. 6'2/215 used to play out the backfield + flanker + return kicks, set the Big 10 Record for Kick Return Average actually (over 29 a return), 21 receptions of 20+ yards of his 79 total + 6.6 per touch on about 3 rushes per game.... could see us running some reverses with him

Pacman was on Irvin's show today too... said all the right things, said he wants to be in Dallas.. Interview with Irvin was him in the studio with Irvin in Dallas, lasted 3 hours

Quote from Pacman

"Ive got to do better", Jones said on Irvin's show. "I'd be really lucky to get another shot. It's getting to the point where it ain't no time for slip-ups right now. It's like I'm on the cliff right now. Any slip-up and it's off the cliff."

The more I think about it, the more I think we NEED to go receiver with that 1st pick if we don't make a deal for a vet. I think we're that 3rd team wanting to go receiver from 22 up. The other 2 are the Bills and Bucs. I'm hoping they value size most and leave Thomas for us.:D That's wishful thinkin cause I'm sure you're right about Thomas being the favorite to go 1st.

I don't like undersized receivers at all either. I think their only purpose should be providing depth and special teams...and we need a young #1, not depth. So I hate to see mock drafts with the Cowboys pickin Desean Jackson or Manningham's short @sses.

You know anything about Brandon Flowers from V-Tech? That n*gga plays man and zone coverage better than anyone else, but his best is the 4.5 range. Dude tackles like a beast too...wouldn't mind pickin him up in the 2nd. I guess if you jam a n*gga like you're suppose to and don't let him run free off the LOS you don't need to accelerate to catch his @ss.

And that whole Pacman situation is bullsh*t. I've never seen a situation where a player lobbies for a specific team that wants him just as bad, but the losing team and commissioner both refuse to be reasonable....I have a feeling we won't be able to pick him up until right before training camp.
