* Ronnie Brown is now the official Kick Returner of the team..... Coach Cameron feels it's necessary to have the team's franchise RB as a kick returner.... my most disliked decision by the coach to this date. I don't udnerstand the risk involved when we drafted Ginn a return specialist. Ronnie Brown had one deicent return against the Cheifs and that was it...
Jesse Chatman will be the backup KR...

* Trent Green earned himself another shot at starting QB next week. His improved play from the Jags game apparently is enough for him to maintain the #1 QB spot one more week in pre-season... as if we don't already know he's starting come week 1....

* Brady Quinn had a monster game last night against 4th string players... lol

* FB Cory Schlesinger is being pushed by FB Ragaen Mauia for the starting job. According to a few of my sources inside, Schlesinger's performance isn't at a level the team expected him to be at and the new rookie Samoan may have an upper edge on the job cus of his heart and youth. Not to mention insane strength lol

* Another shakeup on the O-Line.
LT - Vernon Carey
LG - Drew Mormino
C - Samson Satele
RG - Rex Hadnot
RT - Anthony Alabi

Contrary from previous reports, Mormino is being given another shot at LG due to a lack-luster performance by Lewinski and L.J. Schelton still has not been given the starting RT spot back. Anthony Alabi was horrible last game, I can't wait to see him replaced.

* P Brandon Fields is losing support from the coaches. After a solid mini camp, Fields isn't booming the kicks in games like he did in camps. Ryan Flinn is pressuring for the starting job and rookie Fields could be on the bubble.

* K Matt Prater may remain on team. No Jay Feely isn't being cut, but Matt Prater may be kept around for kickoffs. Depending on the situation with Fields, Prater's leg strength may be used specifically for kickoffs. Not too bad of a paycheck.... a few hundred thousand for sitting down and kicking the balls as far as you can lol.

* Coaches are upset with the TEs. The tight ends last game were dropping passes left and right and absolutely no positive signs of blocking skills. All I know is Cameron was all over them in their last practice.

* LB/DE Abraham Wright's injury wasn't serious, but the injury sustained by Ragaen Mauia was a bit more... Mauia sustained a navecular fracture to his thumb and will wear a cast for 4-6 weeks after simple and minor surgery. Nothing to stress over, cus he will still be able to play.

* QB Trent Green is officially the 2007-08 starting QB of the Miami Dolphins. Coach Cameron made it official today even though it was pretty obvious from the beginning. Cameron insists that there was open competition and Cleo Lemon will be promoted from the #3 QB to the #2 QB on the depth charts.

* This 3rd preseason game will be a typical dress rehearsal with Trent Green playing at least 2 quarters. Ronnie Brown will continue to see time at Kick returner and let's just cross our fingers he doesn't get injured at such a meaningless position while being the team's franchise rb.

* Released Dolphin players continue to flurish. Daunte Culpepper is having a solid pre-season and looks 100% healthy throwing 2 TD's and evading DE's on bootlegs with quick bursts of speed. Manny Wright the former DT released by the team recently and once cried due to a Nick Saban outburst has been sacking and forcing havoc on QB's during his limited preseason playing time. He had a monsterous sack this week. Not to mention Brady Quinn the QB we passed up has thrown 2 TDs and is looking real sharp and accurate during his time on the field. Also, Wes Welker has been seeing plenty of action in the endzone and recently caught a TD pass from Tom Brady.

* In the next few days and immediately after the 3rd pre season game Coach Cameron and GM Randy Mueller will be evaluating the team and determining who will make the final 52 man roster. August 28th is the beginning date of first day cuts.

Ginn is the primary Punt Returner and Brown is apparently the primary kick returner which is a horrible decision.

So much for the Devin Hester impact...

Jason Taylor Will Not Get Sued

Taylor will not face lawsuit
Tuesday | August 21, 2007

by George Richmond

The owner of a local radio station threatening a lawsuit against DE/LB Jason Taylor has decided not to sue after all.

"After further thought, the lawsuit is not worth the time and effort. I'm not going to f!ght Jason Taylor over a few hundred thousand dollars," said owner Joel Feinberg. "With who he is, it's going to be tough to get a fair shake against him in this market."

The proposed lawsuit was in reaction Taylor backing out of a weekly radio show.

Joey Porter Requests Patience From The Fans

"Joey porter is requesting fans be patient with his injury. He a.ssures he will be 100% by the time he gets back on the field and promises a strong impact on defense but says he will not force himself into playing too soon.
Porter said his goal remains to play in the Sept. 9 regular-season opener at Washington.

And he's confident he'll meet his timetable if he doesn't push himself to get back onto the practice field too soon."

The offensive line only looked horrible the 1st quarter...

they were much better as the game went on...

it takes more then preseason for me to be discouraged.....even though I AM discouraged by the offensive line...

all i'm saying is, until our actual starters are playing on the line (L.J. Schelton and Rex Hadnot) i'm not gonna judge until then.

We had anthony alabi and Drew Mormino playing... meanwhile Vernon Carey and Samson Satele look great out there.

Watch a little tape and actually know who's playing before making a judgement so soon...

Take it easy. I was just joking. No one will really know sh*t about their lines until maybe the final pre season game. I'm worried about the Bucs line too. We are fu*ked at Center. So I know the feeling.

its real real early ppl think about it cam has to deal with the mess from so many years he cant just clean up in a few games i understand that its crazy as hell watching ronnie run back kicks and every step he takes feels like (season ending injury) but we got no other choice but to trust what this coach is doing if it takes a few years for a qb to learn the system and gel with his players imagine a team!! oh well WHO IS GOING TO THE FIRST HOME GAME WITH ME!!!!!!!!!! Ronnie Brown is the feature and franchise RB of this organization. Don't listen to all the hype out of camp. Jesse Chatman may end up bringing enough heat to the table to be the #2 RB instead of Lorenzo Booker....that much is true.

Updates:

* Jesse Chatman is officially the #2 RB behind Ronnie Brown beating out rookie RB Lorenzo Booker. His consistent performance level along with a lack of touches by Booker, Chatman has guaranteed himself a roster spot and also a.ssuring the release of RB Patrick Cobbs. Although Cobbs may sign a practice squad contract, his departure is imminent.

* Cleo Lemon is frustrated over being the team's #2 QB. He's being professional about it and making sure he's ready for anything during the season, but it's well known around the Dolphins camp that his frustration is there.

* LB Zach Thomas, NT Keith Traylor, and LB/DE Jason Taylor will all be starting the 3rd pre-season game vs. the TB Bucs. They sat out the 1st two pre-season games to avoid injury and to remain in shape come week 1, but Coach Cameron will have the starters play for at least 2 serieses before being benched. This makes sense seeing the 1st string defense hasn't had a chance to compete before the regular season.

* CB Will Allen is being worked at WR in 5 WR sets. It's primarily an experiment on Cameron's part, but with Cameron's approach towards speed on offense, Will Allen and Ted Ginn certainly fit the bill. Will this actually happen during regular season?? only time will tell.....

* Joey Porter's expected return to the field is the 1st week of regular season play vs. the Redskins. Even though he a.ssured the media his progress is ahead of schedule, it's already documented that Porter is engaged in full-time therapy and rehab on his surgically repaired knee. Athrscropic knee scopes are common and generally over come within 5 weeks, but Porter refuses to rush himself into playing mode before he's 110% healthy.

* Dolphins are having great competition at the DT/NT positions. Paul Soliai and Rodrique Wright are having solid pre-season performances and are both battling for a roster spot. Look for both to have extensive playing time vs. the Bucs. Wright has already managed 1 sack and 3 tackles. Soliai with the same.

* The final 5th WR spot is positioned down to Az-Hakim and Kerry Reed. Hakim has the overall advantage with his speed and veterancy, however Reed has developed a Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison like relationship with QB John Beck. Could get interesting here.

I'll keep you updated when I can...

Ginn making strides to become primary receiver
He is not even the second-team kick returner now, so Ted Ginn Jr., may be something of a preseason disappointment if you singularly expect him to be the Dolphins return specialist extraordinaire, the second coming of Devin Hester in aqua and orange.

But a funny thing may be happening to Miami's first-round draft pick en route to special team duties: He's becoming a pretty good wide receiver.

So the same Miami coaching staff that lowered expectations about Ginn at the start of training camp, saying he would be broken in as a specialist while letting him grow slowly as a receiver, is now fast-tracking Ginn with the offense.

And so before this season is done, well before Ginn reaches his 23rd birthday, the Dolphins might have a new, startlingly fast, remarkably prodigious No. 1 receiver on their roster.

That time is not yet, of course.

Veterans Chris Chambers and Marty Booker are still Miami's starting receiver tandem and the Dolphins don't expect that will change before the regular-season opener at Washington on Sept. 9.

But you could see glimpses of a future that features Ginn on Saturday night when the Dolphins' most impressive drive of the night, indeed, the most impressive drive of the exhibition season, highlighted Ginn as one of Trent Green's primary targets.

When the Dolphins faced a third down on their own 43-yard line, Green didn't look for Chambers, and he didn't throw to Booker. The ball and the completion went to Ginn for 11 yards.

First down.

Only moments later, on a crucial fourth-down play from the Tampa Bay 38-yard line, the Dolphins needed 3 yards to extend the drive. Ginn caught a 4-yard pass.

First down.

The rookie did this with the first-team offense. He did this with Chambers on the sideline, standing next to the coach, helmet on head, eager to return to the game.

''We're trying to get Ted more and more involved,'' Green said. ``We're trying to figure out how he fits in the offense and how we can use him as a weapon.''

It is a modest start, no doubt about that. But it is a hopeful beginning and a sure sign that bigger, better things loom.

Those things are not necessarily obvious in watching one preseason game while cuddled up to beverages not sold to minors. But coaches have been watching Ginn improve exponentially as a receiver for the past 10 days of practice.

He has made a frequent victim of former first-round pick Jason Allen, with practice touchdown receptions that would be in the 50-yard-plus range were they made in real games. Ginn has also proved to be a dangerous weapon on end-around plays and receiver screens.

Those practice accomplishments already have caused the coaching staff to promote Ginn ahead of second-year veteran Derek Hagan. Understand that Hagan was Miami's most productive wide receiver entering Saturday night's game, having caught four passes for 51 yards before he added a 31-yard touchdown grab during the game.

But Ginn's practice success is trumping those preseason statistics.

And he is doing all this without the full benefit of his most obvious gift -- his speed.

Ginn is slowed these days by a little-known quadriceps injury that isn't enough to keep him from playing, but is enough to keep him from hitting warp speed.

And, yet, without his fifth gear or any reputable NFL credentials, Ginn already is a factor even when he doesn't catch the football. So far the Dolphins have only shown the fake on the end around and already defenders are trailing Ginn on the play.

When he lines up outside, cornerbacks back up a step, unwilling to let a fast rookie embarrass them with one snap of the ball and blink of an eye.

''His speed will make people defend us differently,'' Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller said in an on-air interview during Saturday's broadcast.

Mueller was doing what personnel men regularly do, projecting what is likely to happen in the future.

The good news for the Dolphins is that future with Ginn as a fine receiver might come sooner than everyone expected.

Trent Green led the starting offense to two easy TD's last game...
Cleo Lemon looked average...
John Beck >>> then any QB in the game...

Yes I have plenty of faith in Trent Green if the offensive line gives him deicent time to throw...

Miami will be slept on this year and I love it....

1st off, let's discuss the game highlights...

* Trent Green's interception wasn't his fault...Samson Satele left his block and ran left to block the only remaining defender...Cato June beat him to the punch and literally took the ball out of Ronnie Brown's hands....simple rookie mistake and great heads up by June.

* Trent Green is our starting QB. Like him or not, he's only gotten better each game. He led the Dolphins to two easy TD's. When the line gabe him time, he was dead on and moved the ball well with Ronnie Brown and Jesse Chatman. I'm glad he's starting...

* FB Cory Schlesinger is scaring me. I loved his intensity out of Detroit, but I haven't seen any of it since the start of preseason. Ronnie Brown's 1st run was horrible because Cory missed such a key block....he literally dropped the ball on this one. Ragan Mauia is looking more promising every time as far as being the starter.

* Ted Ginn is emerging in preseason as the starting 3rd WR. I'm not sure whether or not Derek Hagan or Ted Ginn's depth number is even going to matter, they're both going to get significant playing time. Not to mention he didn't run back one special teams play last night..........

* Don't expect any of this preseason to be Cameron's style of offense play calling. He's making sure the RB's can handle the bulk of the loads if they have to and he's making Ronnie Brown into a Steven Jackson type RB. So all of you fantasy football players should consider him a sleeper....

* I'm concerned with our punting and kickoffs... Jay Feely boomed one kick into the -7 (Endzone) but besides that one, he wasn't getting it past the 6 or 7 every time... I'd like to see our Punter once or twice on kickoffs to see if it makes a difference......
ANYBODY ELSE MISSING MARE'S LEG STRENGTH???

* JT believes the Dolphins can win 9 games at least if the offensive line plays well. In his press conference he announced this...

Thats all for now..the Dolphins will be cutting 8 players by Thursday. I'll keep you updated.
