Berman

"For good luck, Scoop Jardine placed his belongings by Jeremy Lin's locker in Westchester before his workout. Scoop said delivering passes to fellow Syracuse standout Carmelo Anthony would be "the easiest job in the world.'' Says Melo texted him often this season as Syracuse soared atop rankings. Hoping #Knicks pick him at 48 and feels did real well in his matchup with Tu Holloway today."

Scott Machado, a 6-foot-1 point guard, sees himself as a good fit for the Knicks.

"For any point guard that wants to play here, I feel like it's a good opportunity," Machado said. "They got some players that are banged up, hurt or some players that are retiring or old.

"As far as the opportunity here, it's a wonderful spot, they have a lot of pieces. Somewhere they need to grow solid in is the point guard spot. That's my opinion. I feel like it's a good opportunity for any point guard."

Machado led the nation in a.ssists as a senior at Iona, a small Division I school located in New Rochelle, NY.

"It would be a wonderful feeling to be able to stay home," Machado said.

first dude i looked into was Darius Johnson-Odom....if we end up with a second 2nd round pick i would have no problem with him....biggest concern is that he's like another Douglas and Nate though, a short 2 guard

Scoop Jardine, Scott Machado, Darius Johnson-Odom.....

Looks like I got some HW to do on those players. I know on RealGM they're in love with Scoop but I really doubt he falls into our spot. Darius is a player I'm very intrigued by though.

Jeremy Lin's future with the #Knicks (as well as Steve Novak's) will be decided by an arbitrator, who will hear arguments from the NBA and the NBPA over the transfer of Bird Rights, in about two weeks. Sounds like Knicks plan to keep Lin regardless of the results: “We can keep him if we want him," Knicks GM Glen Grunwald said on Friday, "and we do want to keep him. I believe that Jeremy had a great experience here, and I believe he wants to come back. So that’s where that is.”

Tommy Dee's cosign goes to Rakim Sanders

"DOB 07/08/89
Height 6-5
Wingspan 6-10
Weight 225 lbs

Eye Test: Having scouted the MAAC Conference for Blake and a.ssociates I had the chance to really study Sanders going back to last season when he was sitting out but practicing with the Stags. Sanders’ work ethic has often come into question but his ability is definitely NBA quality. Sanders isn’t a PF, but I go back to last year and think of Kenneth Faried. The knock on Faried was that he was undersized for the PF position, but the eye test could tell you that he could play. Guys like that find their way on the floor. I believe Sanders’ best quality is his strength and while he struggles to shoot from the perimeter and shockingly poor from the line, he is an NBA ready player in my opinion. If he is there at 48 and the Knicks are looking for “best available” I believe they absolutely need to take him.

Athleticism: For his weight and strength, Sanders is an incredibly nimble yet powerful athlete. He opened the eyes of a lot of scouts and executives eyes at Portsmouth. In the post he was too strong for MAAC forwards and dismantled heavily favored Iona in the MAAC tournament outplaying Michael Glover and Scott Machado in knocking the Gaels out.

Comps: The question for me is where does he fit within a system and will his attitude allow for his own development. Is he humble and focused enough to be patient, something that he struggled with during his year on the sidelines after transferring. I see a lot of Anthony Mason in the post but Mason couldn’t stretch the defense to 18-21 feet. He did hit 44 or more 3-pointers 3 out of 4 years in college. Mason also had a better handle. Physically, Sanders has Mason’s strength in a better offensive body- a powerful forward who can post and face up at 6’5 with immense offensive ability and efficiency."
