damn, Bucks want a PF and are willing to take on a contract that continues in 2010, Jefferies for Ridnour would have been nice now....oh well, Ridnour will be one of the guys the Knicks will try to sign in the offseason anyway
so we couldve just traded hughes and someone like darko for mac just to let the salaries match and kept our picks and hill...

A proposed trade between the Knicks and Rockets is losing steam, according to a person familiar with the talks.

"It's less likely than it was on Monday," said the source. "But you never know."

The Knicks are trying to clear as much cap space as possible for 2010.

"The plan was to get as many as we can," Mike D'Antoni said before last night's game against Chicago. "We want to be under the cap as far as we can go to get as much flexibility as we can get. I don't really know what that goes into, but that's the plan and that's what we're going to do. Whether we're there now and that's as good as we can do, then we're there now. Whether we can open up more room, we'll look at it. Nothing's off the table."

Multiple sources claim that Walsh has no intention of trading Jordan Hill.

"Donnie is not giving up on Jordan," said one Knicks source. "He told me he's not trading him."

Both the Lakers and Celtics are in trade talks with the Knicks on Nate Robinson, sources tell Marc Spears of Yahoo!.

Robinson can only be traded to a team he approves. His only two acceptable destinations appear to be the Lakers and Boston.

The Kings could trade reserve guard Sergio Rodriguez before Thursday's deadline.

The Sacramento Bee reports that the Grizzlies, Knicks and Nets have all inquired about Rodriguez, who is in the final year of his contract.

He is making $1.8 million this season.

nothing is set in stone but Nate to Boston is getting warmer, both teams are searching for a third team to get involved.....on the surface, it seems like Nate wants this so he can play with a playoff team, not sure if this is for ANY playoff team but Nate gets a bonus atleast 1 million if he gets traded to LA or Boston

[Comment From Eric from Woodbridge, NJ Eric from Woodbridge, NJ: ]

I dont see how the Rockets dont take the trade New York is offering over the Chicago trade. There getting two first round draft picks, our first rounder from this year Hill and if the Knicks dont get the big fish in free agency, those draft picks are gold. I really dont see any free agents wanting to play here with the exception of Joe Johnson who loves Mike D. This trade may backfire on Walsh and k!ll the Knicks for years to come or be the beginning of something beautiful. Blow on those dice Donnie and roll em.

Alan Hahn
Right, I think Morey is more turned on by the prospect of draft picks and young a.ssets. The Jeffries thing can't be that big of an issue because he does expire in a year and could be moved again in the summer if need be. Plus, he's a pretty darn good defender on a team that plays very good defense. Rick Adelman will find a use for him. But why do you not see any free agents wanting to play here? Suddenly you think making $12M-$15M a year in New York isn't an attractive scenario?? Backfire what? You people are so scarred from a decade of losing you have lost all sense of optimism. I feel for you. Some of you need a hug. Perhaps when Jerome James returns he can offer one.

sounds familiar

Hahn's session is done, basically the biggest standout question what obviously T-Mac....Hahn stated that Walsh doesn't like the fact that this years draft is not here and he's trying to prevent such a thing in the future and is f!ghting to get the 2012 pick a protected pick

The Knicks and Rockets discussed a potential Tracy McGrady trade again Wednesday morning.

Sources familiar with the negotiations told ESPN.com that while the Knicks informed the Rockets that they remain interested in acquiring McGrady in a deal for Larry Hughes and Jared Jeffries, they are still unwilling to meet all of the Rockets' demands, which includes cap relief, Jordan Hill, the swapping of 2011 first-round picks and the Knicks' 2012 first-round pick.

"We'd like McGrady and the cap relief," one Knicks source said. "But the Rockets are asking for too much. We're willing to pay a premium to make a deal. But the price right now is still too high."

According to the source, the Rockets are still looking for other partners. The Bulls have been mentioned as a possibility, however, sources believe that their offer is less attractive than even New York's reduced offer.

The Timberwolves have inquired about a possible Darko Milicic-for-Brian Cardinal deal.

New York would save money in the potential deal, though it is unclear what Minnesota's angle would be.

A source said that the Rockets are now leaning toward not trading Tracy McGrady because they have not gotten an appealing enough offer to pull the trigger.

Contrary to previous reports, the Knicks are unwilling to put their lottery pick Jordan Hill in the trade.

Since the Rockets have not received a better offer from the Bulls, Houston may be keeping the door open to retaining McGrady as a way of forcing the Knicks to include Hill or otherwise upgrade their offer before Thursday's deadline.

The Knicks would like to have a look at McGrady but, perhaps more importantly, pare about $7 million more from their 2010 payroll which they can use in the summer. The Rockets would go under the luxury tax if the team finalizes a trade with New York.
