i know i've been one of his bigger critics, he seems to be the "safe pick"...he does fit the system, has a great demeanor on and off the court, and the BBIQ to "run" this team.

if we were to draft Curry, i'd want this team to trade Duhon and Harrington for Nash, so he can transition Curry to the league and D'Antoni's system
i wouldnt take anything alan hahn says seriously. have u seen his most recent mock draft?

terrible.

as for holiday. im just not sold. can u explain how hes better then curry? why are people so high on a guy that averaged 8 points in college? his workout vid for the kings looked pretty average. everytime i watch him hes just not impressive.

i'd take both flynn and curry over him

In a commercial promoting the video game NBA 2K10 airing during Thursday's Game 1, Kobe Bryant and Spike Lee are debating which picture of the former MVP would look best for the cover.

After seeing multiple options of Bryant in a Lakers uniform, Lee finally settles on one where he is wearing a Knicks uniform.

Wilson Chandler underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in his left ankle on Wednesday.

The Knicks' first round pick in 2008, who just completed his second season, started experiencing pain in the ankle toward the end of the season and after a brief stint of rehabilitation, surgery was required to clear the issue.

Another day and another comment from Stephen Curry on how he would love to join the Knicks.

"If I could be picky, yeah, it would be nice to have that kind of setting: Madison Square Garden," Curry said. "I wouldn't mind being home here in Charlotte or anywhere else. New York would be fun with the legacy up there, trying to turn that team around."

Curry said he's also received interest from Oklahoma City, which holds the No. 3 pick. Washington, picking fifth, and Minnesota, picking sixth.

Portland has also been in contact and may attempt to move up in the draft.

With LeBron James facing free agency, speculation is heating up regarding where the Cleveland Cavaliers star will end up for the next NBA season. In Las Vegas all Lucky's sports books have posted a prop asking whether James will score one point or more for the Cavaliers during the 2010-11 season. The odds opened at pick 'em, or minus 110 either way. That line roughly corresponds to the odds offered at an offshore book on where James will start the season. The Cavaliers are even money on the offshore line, followed by the Knicks at plus 200 and the Nets -- co-owned by rapper Jay-Z, a friend of James -- at plus 350. -- Las Vegas Sun

Jesus H. Christ.....

this kid is gushing over the idea of playing for the knicks, i've never seen anything like it before.

is it because he realizes he will fall if the Knicks don't select him at #8, that he's just not that good? Or is it because he REALLY wants it?

Larry Brown on Steph Curry's Workout w/ The Bobcats

“I had heard people rave about how he shoots the ball,” Brown said of Curry, who made 414 three-pointers in three college seasons. “The thing that most impressed me is that he passes the ball. He’s a great passer. He knows how to play.”

Curry seems to be impressing some long time coaches (Bob Knight and now Larry Clown)...but is this a way of LB gettin back at the Knicks by talking up the guy the Knicks are known to be interested in?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like i have said previously...i'm starting to come around on Steph, i believe he has a winning mentality and is basketball savy. I just hate that he doesnt bring it on the defensive side of the ball.

It will be interesting to see the workouts the Knicks have scheduled on the 8th when Curry comes into camp and faces off wit my boy Jrue Holliday on monday.

Does Jrue's defense shut down Curry's offensive abilities? Who will Walsh-Toni like more?

guess we'll find out on Monday!

Alan Hahn reports that either by trade or purchase, the Knicks will almost certainly acquire a second round pick in the upcoming 2009 NBA Draft. Danny Green and Luke Harangody are mentioned as possible targets.

To sort through their choices for the 8th overall selection, the Knicks will start bringing in prospects for workouts next week.

Stephen Curry may be the prime candidate. The Knicks also want to gauge whether Jrue Holiday's impressive physical gifts come in a package of good point guard decision-making and the ability to knock down shots. The same could be said for Brandon Jennings.

also in every mock draft, Hansborough is a 2nd round...should we get him if Lee is gone to fill in the American white dude spot? lmfao

In an apparent attempt to maximize salary cap space in 2010 while still getting value in return, Donnie Walsh is trying to work a sign-and-trade deal for David Lee.

RealGM Note: The Globe article did not mention specifics, but the Knicks would likely look for contracts/picks in return that do not greatly impact 2010 cap space. The team may also be seeking to package the contracts of Eddy Curry or Jared Jeffries in such a deal.

Though the Knicks likely will take a combo-type guard in the June 25 NBA Draft, Knicks team president Donnie Walsh will eye a center with his $5 million mid-level exception during free agency, and Orlando's 7-foot backup Marcin Gortat is very high on his list, The Post has learned. The Polish big man originally was drafted by coach Mike D'Antoni's Suns in the second round of 2005, but they traded his rights. -- NY Post

Sergio Rodriguez to the Knicks......a done deal?

TRANSLATION...

June 25th, 2009. Madison Square Garden. In this day we celebrate the NBA draft. In this day we will officially recognize the future of Sergio Rodriguez. Officially we can anticipate that, after three seasons in Portland, the point guard will realize another dream in his promising career as a basketball player: dress in a New York Knicks jersey, one of the teams with most prestige in the NBA.

According to sources of the New York team, contacted by Yahoo-Eurosport, the agreement was closed 20 days ago between the Blazers and the Knicks. [Bad Translation] The environment of the player, who does not want to make declarations until the 25th, has been caught up in the recent days in closing daily affairs of what will be the daiy life of the player n New York?[/Bad Translation]

The coach of Italian origin, Mike D'Antoni, has been the main pusher for the acquiring of "El Chacho" for the Knicks. The New York team faces a period of transition in waiting for the 2010-2011 season, in which it wants to pound in monumental effect with the acquiring of Lebron James, who in the summer of next year will be a free agent once having finished his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The recruitment of Sergio, who perfectly fits the mold to the type of game that New York would make with James, would have collateral consequences for another one of our great guards, Ricky Rubio, who will be left without a place in the Big Apple's team.

Like this closes the first chapter of Sergio Rodriguez in the best league in the world. One more period of lights and shadows that of a rose garden, in which there have been lights and shadows, but that has left well to the clear that Nate McMillan does not trust in his qualities to direct those of Oregon. In this last season, the player participated in 80 games, including 13 as a starter when Steve Blake suffered a shoulder injury. His averages were 4.4 points and 3.6 a.ssists in 15 minutes. The drop that topped the cup came in the 1st round of the playoffs during the series against Houston, in which he averaged only 5 minutes per game.

At the conclusion of the last game, #11 of the Blazers declared to the news publication "The Oregonian": "Here, I Don't think I can do anything more. It's impossible. I don't know what will be my future, but I think something is going to happen, whether a trade or something. I trust in me and feel that I need a change.

Said and done. The player's agent, Jose Ortiz, who had already had contact with the Knicks and various other teams in the month of February, came to an agreement with the New York franchise for the the next 3 seasons.

In the meantime, the player continues in Madrid, training under the orders of Jota Cuspinera, coach of Students- with the objective to improve the defense and change his shooting technique. The objective: start the season at the tob and leave good sensations from the first minute where he makes his new home: Madison Square Garden. Change of garden for one of our big players. Hopefully it will be to improve.

So they saying this deal was agreed upon 20 days ago and the Mike D'Antoni is the one pushing for Rodriguez.

What does this mean in the longrun?

Who are we offering for Sergio?

well....Nate and Lee cant be S&T til July 1st, so a deal involving them would have to be agreed upon in principal. But the article clearly states that this will be a draft day deal.

how about...the Trade Exemption we got in the Balkman deal and 2 of our "partially" guarunteed contracts of those 10-day players. Sounds a lot like Walsh's trade of Balkman last year to the Nuggets, where Portland gets the exemption but waives the other 2 players.

i cant possibly see the #8 pick being part of the deal if this is indeed true.

Is this the end of Duhon?....do we use Duhon's exprining and vet pg abilities to make a bigger move?

Does this mean the knicks have soured on Steph Curry as our pick at #8?...Derozan anyone? Maybe they look to move up and grab Thabeet?

*this offseason just starting to heat up*
