i'll do a few players by position in order of who i'd want....

PG: Ricky Rubio, Nick Calathes, Eric Maynor
SG: James Harden, Terrence Williams, Gerald Henderson
SF: (i understand its BPA, but no more SF's)
PF: Greg Monroe (everyone else is obsolete)
C: Cole Aldrich, Hasheem Thabeet, BJ Mullens

my ideal draft would net us Aldrich (if he declares) and by a late round pick for Nick Calathes or Eric Maynor.

but i would give anything to land Ricky Rubio in this draft.....he is the PERFECT point guard for this system.
agreed on rubio. he's the consensus #1 for the knicks... but reasonably. idk if we get him. unless we start to tank ASAP...

calathes is good but.... (sry to compare white guys) ....but he's the perfect combo of jason williams & steve nash... williams when he's erratic and nash when he's on point. he should stay another yr (and prob will) and refine himself a little more... same with flynn, since he's staying again.

reasonably, i'm split b/t maynor and lawson, only b/c maynor is better in a half-court set and lawson is better in full-court transition.

as of right now, my reasonable picks are terrence williams (for the lottery) and lawson/maynor (for later in the draft)... this is VERY subject to change come draft workouts and who declares.

yea... i played around w/ it until i saw a pick i liked...

as much i love steph curry, sry but i don't want us to "shoot" for steph... we already have a potential shooter in gallo. we need to address a true PG, a big man, and all-around, defensive minded SG before banking on steph...

but if no quality players are left then....

Knicks rookie Danilo Gallinari flew back from Italy, leaning toward having season-ending surgery. According to a person familiar with the situation, Gallinari is expected to have what's being classified as "minor surgery" on his back to alleviate the pain resulting from a bulging disc, which would end his rookie season. The person said the surgical procedure would be much less invasive than standard disc surgeries. It only involves a small shaving down of a nerve on which a disc is pressing. Gallinari would be back for July's Las Vegas Summer League. The Knicks did not announce anything on Gallinari last night. Donnie Walsh said he would meet with Gallinari today and said no final decision will be made until the meeting. "He'll sit down with the doctors and Donnie and decide what's best for him," Mike D'Antoni said. "Sometimes this week they'll make a decision." -- NY PostKnicks rookie Danilo Gallinari flew back from Italy, leaning toward having season-ending surgery. Three months ago, Bernard King fell down 17 stairs, cracked his head open and nearly died. Saturday night in Atlanta, he ended up in the hospital after barely being able to finish a walk home. It has been a brutal last few months for King, the 52-year-old former Knick who was honored during the Garden's Legend Awards last night at halftime of the Knicks' 106-102 loss to the Magic. Saturday night, King suffered what he called a "precursor to a stroke," and he said yesterday that if he hadn't called an ambulance to get him to the hospital, he "probably wouldn't be here." King's stroke "precursor" occurred after he had walked a mile and a half, then sat down for 20 minutes before starting his journey back home. But he said he was able to walk only 10 steps at a time, then had to take a two-minute rest. He repeated that pattern the entire walk home. "I finally got home and realized I was in trouble and called for an ambulance," said King, who works in energy management. As a result of the hospital stay and a visit with a cardiologist yesterday morning, King learned he has high blood pressure and is now on medication. The fall down the stairs, which cracked King's head open, may have been an earlier manifestation of the same problem. -- NY Post

The Knicks signed center Courtney Sims, who had been playing in the N.B.A.'s developmental league, to a 10-day contract. Sims took the roster spot of Cheikh Samb, who was released after his second 10-day contract expired. Sims, 6 feet 11 inches and 245 pounds, played briefly with Indiana and Phoenix earlier this season. -- NY Times

Knick center Eddy Curry says his "press-hungry" former driver can't sue him for workplace s3x harassment because Curry is not an "employer" under state human-rights law. In a Manhattan federal court filing, Curry said yesterday that his only employees were ex-chauffeur David Kuchinsky and a personal chef. Under state law, "the term 'employer' does not include any employer with fewer than four persons in his employ," which Curry said makes Kuchinsky's "malicious allegations" subject to dismissal. -- NY Post

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy doesn't believe that the Knicks appreciate Patrick Ewing enough.

Van Gundy criticized the team for not hiring Ewing after his retirement a few seasons ago, saying they "pretend to appreciate him."

"With Patrick, the one thing I've said, and I'm not trying to tell them their business," Van Gundy said. "They honor the guy every year. They honor him, but while they have a lot of ex-players in the organization, they've never moved to try to hire him.

"He was not only the face of the franchise, he was their best player, the hardest worker and gave them a chance to be great. But when it's time to put up or shut up, they do nothing, and it's been amazing and our good fortune in Orlando.

"It's sort of back and forth," he added. "The fans certainly love him. The organization, the guy can't get an interview. The organization sort of pretends to appreciate him."

Marc Berman cites a person familiar with the situation who says that Danilo Gallinari is expected to have "minor surgery" on his back to alleviate the pain resulting from a bulging disc.

The procedure would be much less invasive than most disc surgeries, involving a small shaving down of a nerve on which the disc is putting pressure.

"He'll sit down with the doctors and Donnie and decide what's best for him," Mike D'Antoni said. "Sometime this week they'll make a decision."

There appears to be a consensus among the specialists Gallinari visited, which is that he can continue resting his back or have minor surgery to alleviate the pain.

If he has the surgery, Gallinari would be ready to participate in summer league games in July.

Ron Jeremy needs to STFU and GTFOH w/ that statement. Mind ya own damn business!

but at the same time....he's right.

I don't blame the knicks for this though, because they know that Ewing was not going to be their Head Coach, and that D'Antoni was their guy. There are ego's involved and their could be personality clashes on the sidelines.

i wish Patrick all the best in his search for a Head Coaching position, but i'm happy with the guy we have here. I would LOVE if we got a young big man that Ewing could come and work with...but he's been there done that, he wants to further his career.

i understand you're logic....but i'm not drafting somebody in hopes to entice LeBron to come in 2010

i was watching the Davidson vs. St. Mary's game last night, and i've watched Curry plenty enough to know that i dont want this guy. He has range and a quick release (reminds me of Reggie a lil-to be honest)...but he's weak, undersized for the SG position, and no where near a floor general to be the pure point we need.

Patty Mills on the other hand.......looked sick!

*we need to buy a late 1st rounder or 2 this draft....there are plenty of guards in this draft, that if we can land our big man with our lotto pick-we can buy a Maynor or Mills or Calathes in the mid to late 1st round.*

Danilo Gallinari talked to the media after three back specialists in Italy agreed that he could either continue resting his back or have minor surgery to relieve the pain that has ailed him this season.

"That's the good thing, that everybody said the same thing," Gallinari said. "I was happy for that because if they all said different things, I'd be more worried."

Gallinari also reflected on his rookie season.

"I think it was a real good experience and real good year," he said. "Without considering surgery and without considering all the games I didn't play, it was a good year. I came here new, and basketball, I liked it a lot. So I'm happy to be here and get experience."

Mike D'Antoni answered a question on how he views Gallinari's first season in the NBA.

"I think the year is with a question mark, but I think the player is no question mark," D'Antoni said. "There’s no doubt he’ll be a good player. Whether he played 28, 40, 80 [games], he’s a very experienced, smart, savvy, great shooter, better defender than what we thought and really the only question mark I had on him was can he defend and he’s shown that.

"The only thing now is to get his back well and get his body built up and instead of him being 20 years old, let’s get him to be 23. So a little bit of patience with him, but I am happy with what he did, what he’s shown and what he’ll do. It’s a pretty solid pick. I’m happy with it."

i feel u but naaaah, we already have nate, and two undersized SG's is not the best of looks.... personally i'm coming to realization that unless the knicks and cavs swap teams, lebron is staying. bron already has booby gibson, delonte, and mo will. i doubt he'd see reason to leave them for "steph curry."

been saying this for a while... BUT idk if there's a good enough big men to draft in the lottery. griffin is gone by the time our pick comes, monroe should stay, thabeet prob won't drop to us (sry but i'm not fully impressed by him either), 'gody is an offensive talent but too small (6'8" or 6'9"), mullens need a lot of time (and heart) from what i've seen, and patrick patterson is ankle-injury prone (check the stats).

whoever we get needs to have heart. nate goes hard-body but no one's truly afraid of a 5'9" SG... thus why i'm leaning toward t. williams and maynor/lawson (for now i'll take maynor...but he needs a J)
