I believe the lakers proved that they are the best in the league. Grant it they played the kings but down 10 with about 4-5 minutes left, and win by 12, thats some hard sh*t to pull. Oh wait a minute, we have kobe, arguably the best to ever do it. all he does is put the team on his back and take over the game. i dont see lebron t-mac duncan cp3 nash or dirk that can do what this kid does. please someone prove me wrong... dont worry i'll wait.

I can't cosign the fu*k Mitch...he's built a solid squad. Look at Miami.

I only hate the Kwame trade. Caron has always been one of my favorite players.

Bench Bynum? It’s Lakers’ best move

By Stan McNeal - SportingNews Mar 27, 10:46 am EDT

One of these days—the timetable is as unpredictable as airfares—Andrew Bynum will come back. When the big kid returns, the Lakers’ odds to win the championship figure to jump from fair to favorite. Forget the Spurs and Celtics. The Lakers will be the team with the best of everything: go-to player, coach, bench and front line.

Phil Jackson can put Bynum in the post, kick back in his elevated perch on the sideline and enjoy the ride to ring No. 10. It’s as automatic as a Kobe Bryant drive through the lane, right?

Well, maybe not. Sticking a young 7-footer in the same lineup as a new No. 2 scoring option has the potential for problems. Two starters, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, would have to switch positions, another, Vlad Radmanovic, would have to return to the bench, and all of the backups would have to adjust to diminished minutes. So many changes so soon before the playoffs is not a sure ticket for success.

Of course, I have a way to make sure reintroducing Bynum doesn’t backfire on the Lakers: bring him off the bench. Not for a few games, as the Lakers likely will do anyway. Let Bynum be a supersub for the rest of the season, or at least until the Lakers run into a front line with two 7-footers (which could be a while, unless David Robinson makes a comeback). The advantages are obvious:

1) Bynum won’t face as much pressure as he would as a starter. With Gasol averaging 18.8 points since becoming a Laker, Bynum can concentrate on rebounding and defense and take his time emerging as the game’s next great post player.

2) Gasol can focus on playing center. Forwards have to move and react more in the triangle offense. Gasol is a smart player, but he should not have to learn a new position this late in the season.

3) Odom won’t have to move to small forward. At power forward, he has elevated his game since Gasol arrived—averaging 15.2 points and 11.6 rebounds and shooting 62.0 percent. Moving him to small forward would be especially difficult on defense, where he would have to guard the likes of Josh Howard and Grant Hill.

4) Radmanovic won’t be reduced. Take the team’s best 3-point shooting big out of the starting lineup, and all of a sudden spreading the defense becomes more difficult.

Not surprisingly, Lakers coaches haven’t said much about their plans. Why should they? Staying quiet keeps opponents guessing and, heck, they’re not even sure when Bynum will return.

But one thing is sure: It doesn’t take nine rings to figure out that starting Bynum will put L.A.’s championship chances at greater risk.

I see what your saying but dont you think it will be much better with him off the bench

Fisher/Farmar
Kobe/Sasha
Ramonavic/Ariza
Odom/Turiaf
Gasol/Bynum

That will be k!ller, our second string will be amazing
but we could always do this

Fisher
Kobe
Odom
Gasol
Bynum

That will be crazy also because imagine the Lakers Size

and we could also just keep switching our line up depending on who we play, if we need to dominate with size or we need more speed that game.

no cuse bynum can defend those big a.ss centers better than gasol can

only give him play time if he is fit tho

this will open up shots for gasol and odom as forwards

Yea he can, plus he is also more of a "true" power center, where gasol doesnt have much power...

We will just have to wait and see what happens...

i see where u comin from...but its his 3rd year, its bout time he steps on the floor...alternate breaks...we dont even need a full 2nd string to come in at the same time...switch it up
