Removing Chrome rims for the winter???

time of year has come again where they're starting to spread grit (rock salt) on the roads where i live (the uk)

does anyone here put their old rims back on for the winter or do you just leave em on??

can anyone with chrome rims help?

I just took mine off over thanksgiving break cuz I wont be home in time to do it before snow fall. I must say that going from 20's back to 16's makes my car look so plain haha

In The Uk Yea U Want To Take Em Off. Weather Gets Pretty Bad There. Im In Louisiana, Arkansas, & Tennessee Mostly So I Dont Have To Worry Bout That. We Might Get A Total Of Bout A Week Of Snow And It Aint Even Enough To Put Salt Down. Ive Had 6 Sets Of Rims On 4 Cars And Never Had Problems In Winter. Thats Only Good If U Live In Most Parts Of The South Though.

Might Look sh*tty For A Few Months But Better That Than Lookin sh*tty In The Summer.

my car looks so lame going from 19" to 15" but i guess you are right that its better for them to look sh*t thru winter than all year round!

yah i dont take my rims off ever, i had 20's in utah in slc never did. and im up north in illinois now, it jus snowed like 4 inches but i didn't take my 22's off either. i jus wash'em off like i would in the summer....unless it sits with rock salt all over ya sh*t for months nothin is gonna happen. some cars have chrome bumpers and trim and sh*t dont see people takin that sh*t off....you rollin on rubber tires....not on the rims....unless you plow the roads with your whip i mean i dont see the point really.....

I dunno like the one guy said he washes his in the winter but for me its not that salt that scares me as much as my low profile tires would handle like slicks in snow and ice

if you live where it snows u should take ur rims off regardless if they are chrome or alloys. i know personally i won't mind as much if i happen to slide and hit the curb or some sh*t if i just have my stock rims on
