Iono, to me, kinda crazy when people say these 2 in particular are one of the greatest MC's of all time, you'd think their albums would be in the high muiltiples of millions

Exaclty....but you gotta consider tha folks that only buy bootlegs...not only tha folks that are too cheap to buy their own but the broke ones with five dollars not fifteen that buy bootlegs. I know a lot of people with the bootlegs of most of these CDs. My sister almost bought all of them. I know I downloaded some of them myself so there goes a few sells out the window. NOw think about all the folks that my situation applies to and it's like 50/50 half buying retail and half downloading. Might be even more downloading but sh*t I ain't do any research.

that streets disciple ain't updated. nas has done like 700+k on that album. if he would have added like 2-3 more songs it would have qualified to get double sales and he would have been platnium, but nas don't care too much bout that. and sales dont mean sh*t! look at vol. 2 and the way it sold. vol. 2 is towards the bottom of jay-z's catalouge and did really well sales wise.

the difference between Nas and Jay sales is that Jay accomplished makin commercial (radio/club) tracks better than Nas. Its not like Nas did'nt attempt to make them, its just not necessarily his forte. People always wanna believe that Nas is so underground and don't care about sales. He cares about sales to some extent just like everybody else in the game. Nas is just at a point in his career where sales is not a big factor, even though I'm sure with this upcoming album he is tryin' to do more than just get critical acclaim or he would'nt be reachin' out to the likes of the Neptunes. Nas wants to make this next album real big.

Here we go again. You are saying that you expect the greatest to be hailed by all of America? You know damn well that America doesn't hail real hip-hop music. They hail what rap has brought to the pop culture.

So you say that to be the greatest you have to sell millions upon millions?

Lol, the fu*k? I think you got it backwards. If he wanted to make it real big like you are saying (commercially) why would be reach out to Primo?
