Def Jam Records has made history by placing three albums on the Billboard 200's Top 5 this week.
In its 17th week on the charts, Mariah Carey's The Emancipation Of Mimi has landed at #3 with 99,000 units sold; according to Nielsen's Soundscan. The CD is quickly approaching the 3 million mark and is nearly five times platinum worldwide. Right behind, Young Jeezy's Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 has sold 85,288 CDs to earn the #4 spot in its second week. Lastly, newcomer Teairra Mari debuted in the #5 position with Roca-A-Fella Presents…Teairra Mari. According to Soundscan, the album sold 68,777 copies in its first week.
Meanwhile, Def Jam has also made history by holding singles in Billboard Hot 100's #1 and #2 positions for the fourth consecutive week. Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," the singer's 16th #1 single, stands in the first slot and Rihanna's Dancehall-inspired "Pon De Replay" follows at #2.
