anyone have the same problem? after awhile when i play my back just starts to hurt like a sharp pain kind of but the next day is gone..i dont bend down too much except the times i need to (dribbling, close d, etc.) maybe i need to stretch before i play?

i never had lower back problems while balling...but definately stretch

yea mines hurts too...iono just stretch it i guess - i just play thru - never rly stretch...

if you guys are 21+, it is time to stretch...I'm 24 and I have noticed when I dont stretch, I hurt more than usual. I started to stretch before I ball like 5 months ago and my back problems are to a minimal...I just do 3 different back stretches to help loosin it up before I ball and this helps me out. I have always had a bad back since I got into a car accident and sometimes even if I stretch, my lower back will tighten up and I lose mobility. Does this happen to anyone else? I would see a doctor but I don't have insurance right now..

its probably from the pounding you take goin up for rebounds, layups, shots, etc... not much you can do about it, although stretching and good shoes gotta help some. the older the worse itll get i bet

yo take more protein after your basketball session and take a good deal of carbs to f!ght off lactic acid buildup, best way to strengthen the muscles is good abdomincal exercises, the reason it aches cuz the conditionin of the abs may be poor,
pm me and i'll email u a all star abs pdf file the one dat explains scotty pippens problems and how he sorted it peace

I have da same problem. I thought it was jus me. Da pain sumtimes 4 me is unbearable sumtimes and i jus stop until it starts feeling better. Jus like menacel said, i try not 2 bend over much but it hurts real bad.

Definitely stretching B4 you ball but also some good shoes...........because with bad shoes your body will absorb a lot of the shock that your shoes should absorb.

Not to put a scare on anyone but u should get checked out. I used to get major back pain after baseball, basketball, etc... finally it got unbearable, I'm talkin bout trouble walking, so I went and got checked out. Glad I did cuz x-rays showed 2 vertabrae in my lower back were broke
