I don't go crazy over BE like that, but I can say its def a classic in its own right, even tho there's like 3 or 4 Common albums I'd put before it.

As mentioned, Ye and J Dilla both did their things on that album

Facts i man I was entering my sophomore year at famu
When that album dropped and I was literally registering for my classes late (outta state fees were a bi#ch!) but yeah I remember being so hype for the Nas feature we major and in my opinion it did not disappoint.

I got to see ye live during tlop album tour when the tour came to Tampa…he was barely holding himself together..I think a few shows later they canceled the tour because he has crashed and burned…but fam…he performed “only one” and was like ok we’re gonna take a break…then 5 seconds later he said breaks over hands up!!! And “touch the sky” came on…a n1gga damn near blew a gasket lol. That was one of my favs off late registration and to see him perform that sh1t on that floating stage is something I’ll never forget. My first time hearing that album is like a moment in time in itself. It’s hard to explain to ppl now but his music really left an impact on you those first 5 albums were all moments.

See how you remember everything that happened during that period. Certain albums do that.
