People try to do too much with burgers now a days. All I do is good quality medium to regular ground beef with some spices. A few add ons like tomato, lettuce, bacon and maybe more if I'm feeling fancy I guess lol, but you try to do too much it kinda ruins it for me

I agree. Simple ingredients and do the simple well and I'm good.

I know why folks used to put bread crumps and onions in hamburgers that was to stretch the meat during the great depression, but now I don't see why you would do all of that and try to claim it's a hack or secret recipie.

I'm not a big fan of the gra$s fed. I know it's supposedly better for you and I've dealt with a lot of it cuz I have worked as a meat cutter/ butcher before but I could never get into it. To me it always had a weird taste and aftertaste I couldn't get used to so I've mostly stuck with grain fed.
I guess I like the bad meat lol

I buy meat from a farm, the farmer told me gra$s fed is bs.

They feed grain to the cows, they just switch to gra$s a few weeks before they go to the slaughterhouse. He says it's toouch money and time to gain weight on a cow via gra$s alone unless you don't really let them graze

He took me and my parents around his little 80 acre farm, it was cool how he had it setup and how he had all the space to let the cows graze and roam.

He hipped me on the game though.

It only works on a ma$s scale farm of like 10,000+ acres. Otherwise the cows don’t get fat and you end up with tough meat. The difference between cage free eggs and gra$s fed beef is huge.

Usually 100% gra$s fed cows take 2 years to raise to get to a size worth harvesting. Grain fed only take a year.
There are some that do a mix like you said.
You can tell if your beef is really gra$s fed sometimes from the dark almost purple color of the meat and the yellow color of the fat.
I dunno exactly why but gra$s fed beef the fat tends too be really yellow. Grain fed its almost pure white

Ma$s scale aren't gra$s feeding because it lowers production only boutique can gra$s fed and their volumes are low.

My mom gives me eggs from her chickens. I can't taste the difference between her eggs or eggs I get from the store.

I have had boutique gra$s fed and I've had regular production and hybrid. sh1t really doesn't matter in the taste to me. Prep trumps everything imo and they right bred for the food application.

Word? If I take a dozen eggs for $1.50 and a dozen that are cage free and are $4 for a dozen thr yolks are basically orange and taste 10x better

And for ma$s scale I mean farms that are doing gra$s and alfalfa only for food. They are huge farms that require handlers to herd the cows. Usually found in Montana and Nebraska. Huge farms that do gra$s fed beef. Usually higher price cuts/costs for their cows.

To me the only difference is visually, but I don't eat raw eggs. When you cook them they taste the same to me. How do they taste better to you?

I know farms do it, when I say ma$s I'm talking farms that move volume. I know there are boutique farms that do it but they aren't moving massive quantities and they tend to have backlog on shipping product in my experience and like you said high pricing.

Not worth it in my opinion, i find a lot of sh1t people swear is next level really is t.

I told this story. Before but I spent a lot of money on some a1 wagyu ribeyes and it wasn't great wasn't worth it at all. I bought some Angus ribeyes that were prime and they were superior. That's when I realized that Japanese beef is great for how Japanese eat beef but not for western steaks and even that is all dependent on preparation more than anything for me at least.
