I don’t know if it’s because I’ve seen better Science Fiction movies but about halfway through the I’m thinking about all of the movies I’ve watched that were somehow more entertaining than this.

About 75% through the movie that feeling hits and I know what time it is. I start to think if I get up and leave right now will I care what happened at the end?

Look at the small print under the quote. Most of the time it's some obscure newspaper no ones ever heard of.

I like John David Washington, but I was not captivated from the commercials. It seems generic sans the diverse casting.

I swear denzel son has been on too many movies that are bigger then him. The chris nolan movie and this one show he needs to do reg movies instead of doing these big name/big budget films

he was great in that movie with adam driver but peep how adam driver was in mad regular sh1t and now is in dope films

That, or they just pay people to say it's "the best ___ movie I've ever seen", then say "look what this famous guy said!"

but it comes down to white people going to see a movie with a black lead

once they break that barrier of acceptance then the studios make him the de-facto brotha in a big budget movie

to me he's not good enough to carry a major tentpole but shout out to his agent earning his money

to me Anthony Mackie has the right idea

Double Toasted said its a great Visual Imax movie but the story is generic after the halfway point. I'll watch one day but, no rush

Taking a girl I just met to this tonight. We’ll see.

Edit: We liked it. Visually amazing, no bad acting, a lot of action, but the story is a little middle of the road.

Hollywood been trash for the past 20 years. Just rehashed low effort garbage.

The way they get away with it is because they have billions of dollars to promote it and shove it down your throat, just like the government does with scripted narratives via cable news networks.

Looking at the generic trailer let me know it was a generic a$s movie.
John David is a nice character actor, he is not a leading man.
He has no gravitas or overwhelming charisma.
