It’s crazy how this position has changed over the decade, teams are drafting RBs high even when having good young RBs. Soon you won’t see any after that original rookie deal with the way it’s headed

The rookie pay scale destroyed running backs...
The team being able to lock a rookie into 4 and 5 years at salaries that are well below their value...especially for backs that are day 2 and 3 picks...then after that they can franchise them for 2 more....7 years is all a running back has...aint no back in his 8th or 9th year getting no long term deal.
Crazy thing is, if I'm not mistaking the players association asked for the rookie pay scale so that there is more money available for vets.....am I mistaken?
