In case you’d forgotten, we’re finally getting RoboCop: Rogue City this year. It can be difficult to keep track of what’s coming in the latter half of the year amidst endless conversations about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Starfield, but there are plenty of other gems on the way. Well, at least we’re hoping they’ll be gems.

RoboCop: Rogue City is on the way from developer Teyon and publisher Nacon. It’s set to release in September but we don’t yet have a precise date. September is shaping up to be a busy month. It’ll also see the release of Starfield and Mortal Kombat 1. Rogue City is due to be a love letter to the original RoboCop movie trilogy, with an original story inspired by all three films. Back in March, we got our first look at the brutal gameplay and now, it’s been unveiled that the game is aiming for a M rating.

In an interview with ComicBook, game director Piotr Łatocha revealed that while RoboCop: Rogue City didn’t yet have an age rating, the team were hoping to push the limits and garner a Mature rating. He explained that anything less would “piss off the fans”.

“This was one of the first design choices when we talk about the game in the RoboCop world," Łatocha said. "Based on the first films, we were sure that we wanted to not be limited by the Teen rating or something like that. We knew that it was going to p1ss off the fans immediately if they learned that we had to take those trade-offs."

"We definitely wanted to make a Mature game, but what we really wanted was to portray the kind of violence from the films, that you're not limited with that. But I don't think we needed to do any special cuts. That's the good thing. What we really wanted to show in the game might [earn] the rating that we're probably going to get. It's 18, basically. It's enough to show what we wanted." I do wonder if we’ll get a release date revealed at this week’s Summer Game Fest.

You guys are idiots.slow and clunky is exactly how it's supposed to be.these developers are making the game as close to the movie as possible that includes having robocop move like a tank just like the movie.and if you watch the video and see what they implemented on the gameplay you will see this ain't like other shooters and has actual substance to the gameplay and story.game is gonna be heat rocks when it drops and these are same guys that made the excellent Terminator Resistance so this game is in good hands.trust this will be one of the top releases for the year.

Terminator resistance is the one I know about. That was pretty dope

They've made other licensed games. The Rambo on rails shooter everyone made fun of but also Terminator Resistance that was pretty decent.

this looked cooler than I expected but also like the novelty would wear off in 20 minutes. I damn near choked when I heard dude in a video say the campaign will be 20-30 hours. can't even imagine the torture it would require to do this for that long.

Still buying it.

Unless they are charging 60 or 70.

Then I'll wait for it to get thrown into the Bargain Bin.
