Mostly so I’d have enough ram for virtualization through Parallels. I’m working towards getting into remote IT work and Parallels only uses half your ram for virtualization so I don’t want any performance issues.

I’m also developing a YouTube channel for my DJ sets and I’m going to create motions graphics and edit footage at 4K 60fps so I don’t want any lag in perormance.

Do I need it? No. But I’m using 8GB of ram on this M1 MacBook Pro and o need way more than this so I’m gonna max out. I already run the MacBook to a Dell G3223q so the Mac Studio will be well appreciated.

I’m buying the new Ableton Push 3 standalone as soon as my pre order comes through hopefully this week or next, and I’m heading to Cuba for a week in July. That’s $4K right there. They can keep this for a year or two.

I’m pretty experienced with the MPC and Force, and think this is really gonna be next level, particularly if you sample. The new warping features are unreal, and the MPE for expressiveness is wild. Much more powerful as far as instruments and fx as well. It is only worth it if you own Suite, though, and the total for the standalone + suite is like $2600… i already own suite, though.

However, the real power, once fully implemented, will be with Max4Live devices.
