I watched the first episode and it paints a realistic picture of what the industry thinks about internet and the progress the internet *thought* it was making by abusing hashtags to shame abusers.
The anger you have for revenge pr0n is easily preyed upon by a frantic management team looking for an angle to make their client look good, at least as good as a cumshot photo posted to Reddit can look.
It shows how the sausage is made but in a very unserious way. Hank Azaria plays a j3wish manager (made me wonder what would happen if Apu was Moishe instead on the Simpsons), Eli Roth plays a Vice President at Live Nation that talks a lot like Ari Emanuel if you ask me but he shows ID to get into the starlet’s mansion. The f@ggy son from Schitt’s Creek plays a social media guy, it’s really overloaded with comedic actors which adds more of a sense of humor to the show when it probably shouldn’t be funny. I get it.
If you suspend the same disbelief you have when you watch Euphoria or anything Sam Levinson does you’ll at least appreciate how the show looks in 4K while you’re stoned. It’s a pointless story, Johnny depp’s kid has sad tittles. I was thinking about the nudity in this show and the nudity in Lena Dunham’s Industry and I still think the nudity in that show was way more exploitive than anything shown on the Idol.
I think the negative reaction towards it is solely because of how it shows nothing was learned from me too other than to be careful with your cumshot pics and immediately pivot to revenge pr0n. It’s a joke of a show but it’s designed that way. Go watch some sad t1tties.
