MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — At least $2 million worth of suspected cocaine was seized during a traffic stop in Alabama, according to authorities.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Melissa Dufour, of Miramar, Florida, and Racquelle Anteola, of Van Nuys, California, were arrested for trafficking cocaine.
During a roadside interview, both females had conflicting stories of their travel plans," the sheriff's office noted. "MCSO narcotics K9 was deployed and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics."
Authorities said they found what they described as "several hidden traps" in the floorboard and side walls of the vehicle that contained more than 217 pounds of suspected cocaine, which has an estimated street value of approximately $2.1 million dollars.
