I’ go to the movie theater pretty often. I haven’t seen the movie theaters this busy in YEARS. I haven’t seen the movie theater actually sold out of tickets for years. The movie was amazing as well, so many Easter eggs, emotions. Wow!

Honestly I’d argue that Miles is a more interesting Spider-Man than Peter and I love both. Mentor Peter is awesome

Yeah, haven't seen the new one yet (I have my imax tickets for this Tuesday #cheapday), but I was actually reflecting on the same thing briefly earlier today that "I think Miles is a more interesting alter ego than Peter." What's weird is that when the character was first introduced years ago I immediately wrote it off as one of those lazy appropriation characters where they just take an existing character and just switch their race/gender and act like it's something new/different, but after watching the first film I realized that Miles Morales is actually all his own character and very much not dependant on any of the Spiderman canon established by Peter Parker. I think the scene that really sold me on the first film was basically the thesis of the movie "How do you know when you've become Spiderman? ...You don't. It's just a leap of faith." Still can't believe it's Sony animation that produced these masterpieces. They're literally singlehandedly revolutionizing the animation industry.

Yea, Miles is extremely well written and the dynamic between him and older Peter was done right. This is how a well executed new take on a legacy character looks like. Because Miles is pretty much undeniable even for the racists lol

Miles is the perfect example of how to usher IP into a new era without stepping on the previous. He and Peter work so well together and both genuinely feel like Spider-Man.

I’m glad fans of the character are getting great material but I could really give a fck about Spider-Man after a certain age. Does nothing for me in adulthood. His issues are too juvenile. Give me some X-Men with the same animation.

I think that's kind of the charm about middle aged OG Peter Parker cause his angle as an older person is more relatable.

I think Sony’s iteration of Miles in the Spiderverse movies is better than the comics…. Movie is just flat out good.

It’s a shame that a lotta mfs treated these as “spin-offs” since they’re animated and weren’t as interested, cause this is shaping out to be the most well done Spider-Man trilogy ever made, animated OR live action.

Goddamn that movie was fantastic bro I might go see that sh1t again before it leaves theaters lmao.

Great movie and I'm not even a fan of comic movies especially everything after the first avengers and since its become the same sh1t over and over again. This movie reminds me of being a teen in the city, rich in culture (multiple : hip hop, Latin, blackn ny culture). Great artwork (musta been hell putting this together. I never done animation but I know how difficult it is just to put together a one second clip). The only thing I don't like about it is that it's too much time travel and the sh1t gets confusing, this is really just a gripe with the whole time travel genre as a whole. Once there's multiple dimensions and time zones It gets convoluted for me. I don't remember but I think the first one had a bit of this too. Maybe there's a video or a writeup breaking down all that went down but I felt like I was watching a nolan movie in cartoon form

Ben Reilly spiderman looked fire. Love the little nuances and shading they put on all these

Are those Indian, and rocker Spiderman (this guy seems jimi hendrix inspired) from the comics or its exclusive to this?

I think a part of it is cause we relate more to him and he's more interesting as a person. Peter Parker is boring in his personal life. The only thing that makes him interesting as a person is that he's into photography. Miles is into hip hop, he's a fly n1gga, his family got personality as well as him. He got interesting hobbies. We know more about his likes, his tastes in music and everything. There's more attention to detail in his personality, fashion and who he is as a person. When you see Peter and then you see Miles in this film you see how lame Peter was compared to miles

Peter is the type of guy that be blasting Weezer and Dave matthews band while miles is the type of guy you'd hang out with growing up but he's still really smart at the same time

But I gotta admit I don't like the recreation of heroes. They coulda took all the miles aspects from spiderman and just went with static shock. It's another example of comic books and movies running out of ideas instead of making something new or molding a character that's just like that and bringing him out

Female Thor, black captain America, etc

All true, but if you're going to do it, what they did with Miles is the winning formula.
