This has raised concerns among the beneficiaries of the service, for fear of having their account deleted.

With the intention of freeing up space on its servers, and to continue to strengthen the security of users, Google has taken this decision. Among the arguments is that of protection since, according to the company, an abandoned account is an easy target for fraudsters and hackers. Gmail accounts make up a large part of the spam we receive on a daily basis.

The second reason is because of space issues - for every inactive account that is deleted, the opportunity for a new one opens up.

The targeted accounts are those that have not been used for two years. So, if your account has been inactive for this period, it could be gone.

Gmail: How can I prevent my account from being deleted?
The easiest way is to reactivate the use of it. To do this you have to go to your inbox and send an email so that the activity is renewed. One of these options may help:

1. Connecting to one of the applications with Gmail access (YouTube, etc.).
2. Connecting to Google with your account and searching on Google
3. Connecting to the PlayStore and downloading an application.
4. Go to your email and sign in or send messages
5. Log in to your inbox and access Google Drive

I never liked Gmail. I look at it like aol, yahoo, hotmail.
Instead Ive been on the Mail.com wave for several years. Just that I always have to clarify that the Email addresses arent Gmail, but just 'Mail' without the "G" says everything. People can get the fu#k out of here with their johnsmith474733827@gmail bullsh1t.

I also dig ProtonMail.

Most people never think about why and how there are so many "Free" Email services. Im not going to get into all of the details. Ads, your personal info and data are why though. I used to be a hardcore internet marketer and I'm not tech illiterate either, so I'm certain of that. Between that and it being difficult to have short, easy Email addresses on popular Email services are why I only rock with Mail.com and ProtonMail. Everything else can suck a fart out of a dead relatives ass.

Its for duping sh1t like free trials where you gotta signup with an email addy
If you have a gmail address you can add a "." anywhere in the prefix & it will suffice as a new email
If ur addy was 🔗 you register with that
Then 🔗, then again with 🔗
Most recognize it as a different email addy Google however just puts em in the same inbox

They doing the same thing with Youtube accounts. Deleting entire accounts that having logged in/shown activity in 2 years.

Why dont they just get more servers..

Don't really log into mine but a lot of my stuff go to it. I'll at least long in and read a couple of emails to fake activity.

Why spend more money for space when you can simply reclaim some the space you have that isnt actually being used?

Does receiving emails count as activity? I got a gmail that i get updates on for one of my accounts but I pretty much never send emails with it
