Will this be the lowest rated Finals since Spurs vs Nets?
Pure basketball heads will love this, but I don't think the casual fan is gonna tune in to watch like they should due to the lack of star power on both sides.
If this is a ratings nightmare you wont ever have to worry about seeing an organic finals again.....They will never not rig it again....They will do whatever it takes to make sure that the lakers beat the nuggets and Celtics beat the heat for now on.....so you better watch unless you like rigged sports...maybe u do deep down idk
I'll watch. If yall miss out, that's on you. I enjoyed Suns/Bucks. Heat/Nuggets won't go long but I'll enjoy another series where 2 groups of stars looking for their first chip. Always special to see that(especially with it not happening as frequently)

if the NBA can't sell the stories of jokic and the nuggets vs. jimmy and the heat, their marketers and writers are all incompetent and should be fired. it's their fault. if you're a fan of the sport, this is the last fu#king thing you should care about.
IDK. I stream most of the games anyway so I don't count if I watch it or not. But I do think a certain segment of the population who may live vicariously through a player like Jokic (someone who looks like them) may actually boost the ratings a bit.
Narratives and race sells in sports. It's kinda a base instinct in our society. Not saying it means everything but it doesn't mean nothing. I think we can all agree that that's true. Joker is kinda like Larry Bird right now.
I'm watching just purely from a fan of the sport, not hype. I'm curious to see how well Miami can play. If Miami wins this this would be the lowest seed to win a championship and arguably the greatest run. Miami beating 2 first seeds, a second seed and a 4th is wild
No he's not. Luka is way more popular but neither of them is Bird and there's only one reason for that, they're not pure white Americans.
I said "kinda like". European Americans will root for whatever White guy you put in there if he has ski1ls or a hype train. We've seen that a million times before. The only difference here is the 80's NBA promoted that without having to say it. Today's NBA won't even think about marketing in that aspect.
n1ggas talking about they're basketball heads, but turn around and say they're not going to watch.... Then you're not a basketball head goofy ass. Lol.
Me personally I'm really looking forward to this matchup. Both butler and Murray have shown they can go nuclear in the playoffs. If we get a game or 2 of them going off at the same time like how Mitchell and Murray were doing in the bubble than that alone could be worth the price of admission.
The Jokic dynamic is also big. The history with him and the Morris brother is still there despite us not seeing that Morris since lol. Not to mention that most people feel like Jokic was the true MVP this year so how does he respond in the finals.
From a pure basketball stabdpoint both these teams play textbook basketball. A lot of movement and passing. Not much Iso ball what so ever. That alone is going to be refreshing to see. I can't wait!
