Basically, They know that Microsoft will be ahead of them this time and they need to catch up.

They don't have money like Microsoft where they can buy ready-made GAAS companies that make Billions already like ABK or EA or 2K. Microsoft can even go buy EA and/or 2K after this. That's how deep their money is.

THEY gotta build their own IP from the Ground up and it takes Time and Money. By 2025-2030,It's gonna cost $500 Million to develop a new Game(IP). Where do u think they gonna get money for that? I even hear Rumours game Prices gonna jump to $80 soon.

500 Million ÷ $70 = 7.2 Million Copies just to break Even. I haven't even included Marketing budget.

U keep seeing those Hardware sales threads where Playstation sells millions,Yet u see reports saying that their customers arent buying Games. What games u think they buying? They buying the usual COD,FIFA,NBA,etc....The GAAS games.Not the Sony Studios Games. Its why they always bundle them when selling.

Activision-Blizzard Is a GAAS Monster,All their IPs sell no matter how bad they are on Metacritic. Basically their IPs have tr@nscended What Traditional Games do. It's why MS is Willing to buy

The money from ABK and Microsoft Studios games which have GAAS will fund the next single player story games for Xbox and PC.

We all saw what happened with Babylons Fall. Perfect example of GAAS gone wrong. ki1led it off 1 Year after Launch. $70 Game turned into a Weed Plate.

he's just saying Sony has earned gamers' trust that when they cancel or delay a game, gamers know it's likely for the best because they've proven that they know what they're doing

xbox hasn't earned that trust because more often than not, they haven't delivered when it comes to quality games outside of forza and a game or two every few years

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no, but I'm questioning a lot of Sony's decision-making lately.
