France have been battling social media companies for a few years now. Whether it's about taxes or moderation (terrorism related material, pr0nography...). France knows its arms too short to box with those american juggernauts so fu*k it let's aim for the users.

Also, this is a part of a broader conversation in France about all those influencers living in Dubai selling sh*tty courses, promoting surgery, taking money for shady "investments"..all that dumb sh*t to french teenagers. That wild wild west sh*t is ok in the U.S but in France that's a no-no.

it really is the key.

the only social media account i have is twitter and it's not connected with me socially at all. no pictures, there's only one person who knows it's my account i know personally because i wanted to share financial info, no avatar of myself etc. i use it it for real time information news because it's the best real time aggregate system although imo musk has fu*ked that up too with his new model which nobody is a fan of.

the whole key is to not project your reality into social media and let it hold no weight in your real life. just use it as a tool. just like the internet itself. it's a strong and fruitful tool. but if you let it use you? it's dangerous in different factors. use the internet don't let it use you.

I agree. People be putting their whole lives on social media and it feels like they're trapped in the matrix. Those without it I think will have an advantage in many ways by being so against the grain
