Very interesting shift within my orbit. Educated millennials are waiting to get married and are spending longer time in the “work hard play hard” phase of their lives. It used to be you got the partying out of you in college and then got married shortly after. Now you have men and women who like being single and dating and having multiple partners. Nothing wrong with this I just wonder what the long term effect will be

I’m in my mid 30s now and don’t see myself getting married anytime soon and don’t ever wanna have kids.

Most people want you to be like them which is why you should always think for yourself after listening to someone

Those in relationships want you to be in a relationship like them

Those single want you to be single like them

I don’t disagree but you’ll notice I prefaced my statement by saying “in my orbit”. My orbit is different than average America. I went to college and a ton of people I know ended up going to med school and are now doctors, went to law school and became lawyers, engineers or tech. Most of my friends are in the top 5% of all earners, hell some are in the top 1% for their age group.

These same friends are holding off on marriage and kids so they can travel, party, move to a new city every few years and spend a ton of money. I don’t blame them, they spent years grinding.

Not saying all my friends but I’d say most of them fall into the “work hard, play hard” mentality. Men and women
