My question is why would parents want they 19-20 year child to be in high school with 14 and 15 year old girls.

Happens a lot these 19 year olds messin with underage females. Some even end up gettin booted from school or worse…

I find this hard to believe. I could dunk at 15 (summer of 9th) and there was only a few of us in my school that could

Don’t forget playing down 1 /2 grade classes with an entire team of older children.

Some of them holdbacks ain’t horrible just around average or lower in they correct grade class age group.

It gets tricky because even the grade class above them got holdbacks on all levels.

This is really like a freshman team but they wouldnt be on sh*t playing at the highest level in 8th or 9th grade.

It all catches up eventually some might pan out most won’t.

Those kids are 14 (turning 15 before 8th grade starts ) and 15 years old

And 7th grade used to mean 12-13 years old.

They all basically going to be 16 or older by the end of they freshman year of high school

It’s bad.

Those are 7th graders.

sh*t Jamal Crawford from the NBA was even “forced” to hold his kid back a grade class because of these old a*s kids.

He suppose to be a 7th grade also but got held back to the 6th grade.

AAU basketball is a fu*kin mess

They parents are weirdos. Some coaches too.

It’s a competitive advantage that can boost the image of a child or team/club.
It’s a hype thing with hopes that wave/hype can turn into a college scholarship or beyond.

Might have to really ask parents and coaches that do that sh*t the logic they use. Cause anything they claim seems like bullsh*t can get called out for the bullsh*t it is.

What even wilder

I’m gonna guess only 2 of them will start for a D1 team for 2+ more years

None of them will make the NBA

That’s really how it goes. This dunking compilation means nothing

Even non starters get full ride scholarships.

Hold back or not vast majority of children don’t start for a D1 basketball team

And this “dunking compilation” does mean something.

That’s a whole team of 14 & 15 year olds playing 13u basketball.

f*ght through it or whatever…. it’s just fu*ked up they stealing spots from talent in the correct age group grade class.

That college transfer portal compound the situation.

Even if your a strong basketball player as a legit 14/15 year old high school freshman 1 or 2 year difference is still a significant development gap when there 16 /17 year old freshman as well.

fu*kin Jrs and senior as sophomores in high school.

Skills and athletic ability have continually increased in every sport. As expected with sports science, a sports development and it's popularity. All they showing is the kids dunking, doesn't reflect on their athletic or skill level just demonstrated their physical ability. Plenty of park legends in every hood who couldn't make it for what ever reason.

Common sense would be to bracket them by age, not what grade they’re in.

That sh*t gets exploited as well.

Be having high school freshman and possibly sophomores playing 8th grade middle school basketball because of where they birthdate falls

You was a hold back and or you was playing with hold backs.

To have four 12 year olds dunking all on the same local basketball team callin bullsh*t.

sh*t 5 6th graders all on the same team ( 11-12 year old) dunking frequently once upon a time

It’s not impossible for legit 7th graders (12-13 year olds) to dunk they just all going to be over 6 ft tall at 12-13

They don't even have to be hold backs. It's an AAU team, so the team probably recruited the tallest kids they could find in the age bracket.

The highly competitive AAU teams are doing recruiting like D1 college programs.

They're not doing player development and turning your 5'6" kid into a dunking machine. They're finding already trained 6'+ 13 year olds and running all star teams so they can win every tournament and boost name recognition.

we all grew up together, wont no hold backs. Its not as far fetched as you think. Yes the vast majority prolly cant, but there are plenty that can and do. As a kid I was always bigger than most of my peers. Always played an age up in sports bc of it. I wasnt crazy tall or nothing. Im 6'1 now

U just aint been around much. I played AAU ball with 2 of the guys mentioned in my last post. U seen dude dunking all the time. Esp when you hit nationals and u see kids from across the country. I remember 13u AAU a team had a damn near 7ftr.
