Something about the first clip just made me like I don’t know, this is his sh*t. All the work and pain and anguish this man went through to make the character what it was and missteps were made along the way yeah, but he gracefully bowed out. He wrote a beginning middle and end and through in the call back to creed having that moment for himself.

Stallone shoulda got an Oscar for creed 1 btw and Rocky Balboa.

Even tho I don’t fu*k with creed 2 like that. That love and attention to detail was there. There was a respect that seemed to be carried in every aspect of the world he created when he was involved.

I dont know all the details of his deal, but he wasnt a part of creed 3 because of the feud with longtime franchise producer Irwin Winkler . Basically Stallone doesnt own any of the right to Rocky, not a single percent for the guy who wrote and created the Rocky universe.

“I have zero ownership of ‘Rocky,’” Stallone told Variety at the time. “Every word, every syllable, every grammatical error was all my fault. It was shocking that it never came to be, but I was told, ‘Hey, you got paid, so what are you complaining about?’ I was furious.”

The clash between Stallone and Winkler over “Rocky” rights was reignited in 2022. Stallone published an Instagram post in July featuring a portrait of Winkler as a knife-tongued serpent.

“A very flattering portrait of the great ‘Rocky’/’Creed’ producer, Irwin Winkler, from one of the country’s greatest,” Stallone wrote in the caption. “After Irwin controlling ‘Rocky’ for over 47 years, and now ‘Creed’, I really would like to have at least a little [of] WHAT’S LEFT of my rights back, before passing it on to ONLY YOUR CHILDREN — I believe that would be a fair gesture from this 93-year-old gentleman?”
