Mar 18 - Use of Chinese ammunition in Ukraine confirmed by U.S.

The United States has confirmed that rounds of Chinese ammunition have been used in battlefields in Ukraine and suspects they were fired by Russian forces, government sources said Friday.

Whether the ammunition was supplied by China remains unclear, the U.S. administration sources said, while adding Washington is poised to take action if it is verified Beijing made the shipments.

Amid a myriad of disagreements between the United States and China, officials have recently said Washington possesses intelligence indicating that Beijing is considering sending arms and ammunition to Russia.

“It’s something that we are vigilant about and continuing to watch carefully,” a U.S. State Department official told Kyodo News.

The United States has notified some of its partners about the confirmation, according to the sources.

The confirmation came as Chinese leader Xi Jinping plans to travel to Moscow for a three-day state visit from Monday. In his first trip to Russia since its invasion of Ukraine began in February last year, Xi is widely expected to reaffirm his close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In talks with Xi, U.S. President Joe Biden warned him of serious consequences if China provides military support to Russia for its war in Ukraine.

The U.S. government has determined that the ammunition found in Ukraine was produced in China after analyzing its composition and other factors, the sources said.

However, they did not disclose what kind of ammunition was found.

With the war in Ukraine entering its second year, the confirmation could further stoke tensions between the United States and China. Biden said earlier this week that he expects to speak to Xi soon, without elaborating.

China has increasingly tried to present itself as a neutral peace broker and repeatedly denied any intention to supply Russia with arms for the Ukraine war. But it has avoided condemning the Russian invasion.

As f*ghting in eastern Ukraine intensifies, Western officials have said that Russian troops and the Wagner Group, a mercenary force f*ghting for the Kremlin, have been struggling with shortages of shells.

The founder of the private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, last month accused the Russian military and Defense Ministry of not providing enough ammunition for its f*ghters.

While the Ukrainian military is also facing shortages, the mercenary force is now trying to divert weapons from its operations in other countries for use in the ongoing war, according to the sources.

U.S. news website Politico reported this week that Chinese companies have sent Russian entities 1,000 a*sault rifles, drone parts and other equipment with potential military uses.

Customs data showed the shipments were made between June and December last year, according to Politico.

It said the data did not show whether the items were sent to Russia specifically to help its war effort in Ukraine.

“We still have the same level of concern that we did last week about the potential for China to supply lethal weapons and lethal capabilities to Russia,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby said in a press briefing on Friday. “We still don’t believe they’ve taken it off the table.”

We're literally sending our own ammunition manufactured right here in the USA in crates labeled "Made in America" to the Ukrainians!!!

The absolute gall it takes to tsk tsk China on the matter is wholely contradictory. It's like the Jewish chick white-splaining Apartheid in South Africa:

It’s a United Nations thing. China is part of the UN and because of that, is not supposed to be supplying Russia with anything because of Sanctions. Thing is, people from all over been buying Chinese ammo for years.. I think I might even have some. Who’s to say they didn’t have that ammo before sanctions?
I definitely have thousands of rounds of Russian ammo… I sure as fuk didn’t buy it recently.

UN sanctions are a joke as is the UN itself. It started out promisingly enough but it's an oversight committee with zero ability to enforce any real punishment unless it's upon developing nations.

I can agree with that.. was just explaining the difference in said examples. But yeah.. they are a joke.. I believe they have done a lot of humanitarian work though. Other than that they corrupt and seem to not be able to do what’s needed in many cases.

It is a little different. Like 90% of this world sees this as an illegal invasion, Russia shouldn't be there. So all the sh*t being sent to Ukraine is helping them defend their own country. If you are supplying Russia you're helping Russian imperialism and their invasion of a Sovereign country.
I'm not saying these are necessarily my views cuz IL admit I don't really know what's going on but that is just the way most of the world sees it

No sh*t. It was obviously going to happen and is the main reason America has been silently shutting companies down in China aka sanctioning.

Even going back to banning TikTok and creating an anti-Asian environment again that they tried to pass onto Black people.

Transferring American money to Ukraine.

Basically America is alienating itself and the EU is getting sick of their sh*t too.

UK is having a media war with America thanks to them promoting Harry the Prince of Simps. Well, and the whole Johnny Depp case.

I don’t believe in coincidences regarding this war, the pandemic and all of these recent financial issues and crimes.

You are delusional, American companies decided to manufacture in China for it's low wage & lax regulations then ship the goods over here . Tell those companies to move out of China & come back home to produce their goods

90% of the world doesn't see this as an invasion. They see it for what it is. They're not that dumb. What they choose to say or do about it is one thing but to a*sume they're too stupid to understand it's NATO aggression is naive on your part!

The real question isn't about countries governments that support US aggression against Russia it's how many people in the world support it or fully understand it?

Most countries government is full of elite's who don't serve the will of the citizens they govern. If they did Israel wouldn't exist!
