Looking through the comments, most folks said it was a combination of multiple things that AD that cost. I’m personally not saying he’s solely responsible for the lost since I didn’t watch the game.

On this particular play, he didn’t need to get sucked into Kyrie’s vacuum; Kyrie already had two people on him and Pinson was covered down. Both Kyrie and Pinson were also inside the 3pt line so worst case go into OT or he force Kyrie to make a tougher pass to Bullock at the corner.

Best yes, someone would’ve been open regardless with that double on Kyrie. AD is the easy punching bag here for Lakers fans

As a mavs fan, this is true. The first foul was on a close out on the same shooter that finished the game, so smart close out. The free throw being missed is standard for a big man. And on that last play, come on man everybody and their mom thought Kyrie was taking that shot. He was sh*tting on them the entire game. The high IQ play was to not let him shoot and live with the results. Maxi only had 7 points at the time, but made it when it counted it’s the game.

bruh STOP. kyrie had three lakers around him. there was no reason for him to sink that far into the paint and away from a 3 pt shooter. a two only ties, a three beats you. that was low IQ basketball

He shouldve been guarding the point area since strongside wing, corner and baseline were all covered.

He left the weakside and point wide open as you can see

And he did it two times in a row. On the three point attempt and foul and on the last play. I’m trying to figure out what he was attempting to do? Be in position for to contest a Kyrie layup? Ofc you don’t want him to tie the the game, but a two doesn’t beat you.
