People just don't understand how easy a REAL PG makes the game for everybody else on the floor. It's sad the game is lacking that. I see so many teams that can't get over the hump because they don't have a player on the court that knows how to legit run a team and control the game.

Rondo, kidd ,billups ect ran the team and played defense like a true point suppose too.

The game has deteriorated, it's why I don't watch except for following a couple players or story lines.

Clippers are prime example.
But yea. Todays kids too infatuated with numbers so a guy like kidd don’t move them much.
But anyone that watched him know what’s up. He controlled the tempo of the game, flow of offense, and made the game so easy for guys. All you had to do was keep your head up and be ready.
That’s what real floor generals do, nowadays they just drive n kick, horrible passes and sh*t.
Korver said when he joined the Cavs bron was asking him if he prefer bounce passes or chest passes, where he wants ball placed, with seams or without seams, etc. all point guards should be that knowledgeable.

This era is missing true point gaurds like crazy alot of them are combo players which is fine but hey i guess its evolution right.....

I would love to watch alot of these teams play back in the early 2000 people wanted to play defense

And that's Denver's Achilles heel. As much as I like Jamal, he hasn't shown himself to have that 'floor general' ability, thus Jokic forced to take the role and be that as a center.

Every time I watch the lakers play I say this. Dennis never is able to get the ball to AD because his post entry passes are horrendous. The difference between him and d’lo is night and day in that aspect.

Yea. I don’t mind the combo guards like dame and Steph. Because that’s necessary on certain teams. Just like Gilbert arenas was necessary.
But the fact that the only point guard cut from that cloth right now is lonzo, and he’s hurt, is sad.
I like variety. Have no issue with the game evolving, but still gotta play ball out there

Guys don’t know when to throw a bounce vs chest pass, when to not attack in transition, how to wait for the screener and manipulate the defender into goin into the screen, etc
