Design wise, I think it looks nice compared to other small SUVs like the Toyota RAV-4, Hyundai Tuscon and Honda CR-V.
I don't like the price. And I wouldn't trust a first-year, first-generation of any car.

European, or more specifically, Italian car design is good.
Hyundai hired Italian car designers years ago and never looked back. Their cars started looking more Euro and that appealed to buyers.
