The emulation aspect makes it an attractive option yes, I have it setup on my series S but only as a backup to PC. Are they missing MAME or is it not compatible yet? I thought it was.

Nah, it's not plug and play.

It's close but I always give give edge to Xbox. Ps2 is the consensus because like you said not everybody had both...but to the ones who did Xbox was better (and its what turned into gaming today woth dashboards, hard drives, crazy powerful, fast load times, Xbox live, entertainment/media center...Xbox media player is now Kodi).

Pse had a better controller and some must have exclusives like gta, smackdown, metal gear ect but Xbox got played on non exclusives (graphics, load times much better) and Xbox had some dope exclusives too (and timed exclusives that were exclusives back then..wasn't waiting months to play). Halo, ninja Gaiden, splinter cell, max Payne (timed) ect..

And once molded

Had emulators, a customized dashboard, turned it into an entertainment system.
