![]() I'll start ...
The Kingdom of Benin prospered from the 1200s to the 1800s C.E. in western Africa, in what is now Nigeria ![]() With its mathematical layout and earthworks longer than the Great Wall of China, Benin City was one of the best planned cities in the world when London was a place of ‘thievery and murder’. Benin City was also notably among the first urban centers to have a likeness of street lighting. There were large metal lamps that burned palm oil, standing many feet high, placed around the city. The king’s court was square and stood at the right side as one entered the city by its main gate. A wall like the one that encircled the city surrounded the court. The court housed various palaces, houses, and apartments for courtiers and boasted beautiful long and square galleries. Those galleries were “about as large as the Exchange at Amsterdam,” according to Dapper. The largest gallery hosted many of the city’s famed bronze carvings. Scenes engraved into bronze plaques stood supported by wooden pillars throughout the gallery. Destroyed by the British.... |

The Kingdom of Aksum
The Kingdom of Aksum was considered one of the ancient world's four great powers of the 3rd century by Persian prophet Mani, alongside Persia, Rome, and China. The Aksumite Empire at its height extended across most of present-day Eritrea, northern Ethiopia, western Yemen, southern Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. The capital city of the empire was Aksum, now in north Ethiopia. Aksum was deeply involved in the trade network between India and the Mediterranean (Rome, later Byzantium). Aksum’s access to both the Red Sea and the Upper Nile enabled its strong navy to profit in trade between various African (Nubia), Arabian (Yemen), and Indian states. |

Violence isn't just physical... erasure (deliberate or not) is also a form of violence... Edit: Benin City described The king’s palace is a collection of buildings which occupy as much space as the town of Harlem , and which is enclosed with walls. There are numerous apartments for the Prince’s ministers and fine galleries, most of which are as big as those on the Exchange at Amsterdam. They are supported by wooden pillars encased with copper, where their victories are depicted, and which are carefully kept very clean. The town is composed of thirty main streets, very straight and 120 feet wide, apart from an infinity of small intersecting streets. The houses are close to one another, arranged in good order. These people are in no way inferior to the Dutch as regards cleanliness; they wash and scrub their houses so well that they are polished and shining like a looking-glass.” Source: “How Europe under-developed Africa,” by Walter Rodney, Howard Univ. The kingdom of Mali
Mansa Musa made an important mark in Mali by introducing the kingdom to Islam and making it one of the first Muslim states in northern Africa. He incorporated the laws of the Quran into his country’s justice system. Cities such as Timbuktu and Gao were developed into international centres of Islamic learning and culture. Elaborate mosques and libraries were built. The university that emerged in Timbuktu might well have been the world's first. The Mali Empire, under Sundiata Keita, created one of the very first charters of human rights, the Manden Charter, also known as the Kouroukan Fouga. This is an oral, rather than written, charter, which has been passed down by generations of Malinke |

Just as it’s mostly a minority of Black-Americans that speak on Egypt or wear Egyptian stuff there’s a minority of Africans that does too. I mostly find them amongst the French speaking west Africans. They’re all in forums and Facebook groups debating religion and African spirituality.

Akhenaten got this religion/theory from foreigners, namely his wife's people the Mittanni who were not African. Mittanni would be what we call Syria today, but anyway this is where Nefertiti is from, (which is not her real name). She would be more like the ethnic group of Kim Kardashian, not black but not white either. You can study this by going back to his father Amenhotep III, who had a penchant for foreign women and I believe Akhenaten's mother or grandmother also was not African (Queen Tyre).. Anyways, the Mittanni were sun worshippers and they wanted to make an alliance with Egypt so the king offered his daughter (Nefertiti) and with that she brought the foreign religion (sun worship). This is what caught him all the resistance. He goes down in history as a heretic.

I wasn't really tryna go too deep into it all the details. I did a whole report on Akhenaten in school before I dropped out.. took damn near a month. Believe me.. U not tellin me nothin new. I know Nefertiti not her real name..but that's the name schools taught and the most recognized by everyone And I know they wasn't african.. I was just talkin as far as the fact they literally tried to erase n rewrite him out of history. and how it made me start to question everything after that.
