Gotta say I'm a fan of Microsoft allowing their Xbox Studios to make these more creatively risky smaller titles like Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment

Hi-Fi Rush shadow dropping robbed any opportunity for negativity.

Just allowed everybody to go try out the new thing instantly on Xbox Game Pass, going in with a totally blank state.

Game was able to speak for itself, to great effect imo.

Not only does Hi-Fi Rush look phenomenal, but the environment is moving on the same beat to use as reference. You can even time your dashes to be on the beat.

Them Japanese Tango devs are already paying off and adding to the variety

Wouldn't be surprised if they played nice with Nintendo down the line and got this on the Switch, they could make a lot of money

Game Pass allows this type of magic to happen

I’ll never understand the complaint about paying for games. If devs put out something I like, I'll give them money. Being cheap is the reason you dudes don’t have many options now.

Complaining about $70 shows you most definitely didn’t grow up in the 90s cartridge era:

TBH if Xbox put out more games like this instead of generic a*s shooters Halo I'd spend more money with them.

game has fun art style but most of these people will drop it in 2 days to be honest

i get where ur coming from...
but i think what ppl mean is....

spiderman, u dont have play it to know what ur gonna get
gow, u dont have to play it to know what ur gonna get..
horizon zero dawn, uncharted, tlou etc etc, basically more of the same....

not taking anything away from those great games, but most of those titles are more known for captivating stories and industry leading visuals than say, interesting game mechanics or meta.

while hifi might be third person, u dont know what to expect, what are the mechanics? how do they work? how does the environment interact w/ you?
like sunset over drive, all we knew it was a fun looking open world 3d platformer.. but it was much more than that and every one was plesantly surprised because other than say skateboard or jet set radio, there's no other game like it.

for example.. 3d platformer psychonauts - was not more of the same, and arguably one of the best platformers made in the last 20 years.

sea of thieves, 3rd person... but no other game like it

high on life, sure theres tons of silly shooters, fetch quests and loot-a-thons out there... but really, no other game has attitude like this one, and really no other game like it.. didnt know what u were gonna get, even though we seen trailers and deep dives for months...

could u tell me with out playing it what grounded would be like? how it would play or how the game mechanics would work? that's ppl is saying.. there's a reason why vampire survivors gets talked about as much or more than gowr. ppl want a lil variety...

i love FPS and 3rd person over the shoulder games, but guess what i grew up on? 2d platformers and f*ghting games, plus arcade sports and racing games ie nba jam, mortal kombat, earth worm jim (which i think squanch games should remake) street f*ghter 2.. mike tyson boxing... what im getting at is I LIKE VARIETY!!!

im so glad they are seeing such positive feedback, which is overpowering the hate...

honestly for like 15 yrs... th eonly game i bought yearly was COD.

bought destiny the 1st one, bought the 1st and 2nd division on deep deep sales. red dead 2 on sale, gta 5 (2-3 times)...

i dont got the time nor the justification on spending hundreds on games like ima kid.. if you have a wifey, im sure she might bi*ch now and then that we spend to much money on games... she can understand the console cause its like a computer and she can use it... but she rather see 15/mth than to see almost 100 bucks being spent any time i wanna play a game that looks interesting...

unless ur wife a movie buff i bet she feel better paying for netflix/disney than going to the theatres every week for the new new, especially if she paying

bro i had to start wishlisting and setting up notifications for when games leave the service.... its getting too crazy!!!

and i still need to get into those true crimes games that you can play with mature ppl that ain't into games.

easiest way to impress a chick who's into true crimes is that xbox game that uses real video footage of that missing actress and you have to figure out what happen to her, i bet she fu*king after she sees how smart and detail oriented you are

Games fire.

High production value, engaging gameplay. They keep introducing deeper mechanics that bring alotta combo variety. Got that Jet Set/Tony Hawk energy that'll make replay these levels for sure.

I have absolutely zero issues paying for games. None. Same with anything else that I see as worth my money.
