Storage is pretty cheap nowadays. Put the music on a micro sdxc card, put the card into the DAP and you’re good to go. I don’t get the obsession with streaming. I pay for my music once and then play whenever I want from any device of my choosing.

This isn’t the first gen of DAPs or even Sony DAPs. People who don’t like streaming buy them. People who want better quality portable audio too. Also those who care about their privacy and don’t want a bunch of nerds dictating what they can listen to.

That’s the part that I have an issue with but it means options for those addicted to streaming services.

There was a previous gen of Sony Walkmans that used Sony’s proprietary OS - very light, polished and reliable but there were no streaming capabilities. Perfect for me.

Holding this and a phone? Nah

I was copping iPod classics off eBay with SSHDs installed. But they’d always fail after a few years. I finally gave up around the time I got some Airpod Pros because I got tired of switching from my wired earbuds to my AirPods. Then I tried to get a Bluetooth plugin for my iPod. It was too much. Now I got all my music I had saved on hard drives streaming straight to my phone with the iBroadcast app. I ain’t going back now.

Prolly cool for me since I already store my music on SD's and Thumb-Drives...But a Regular Mp3 player would suffice unless the Price point makes sense!

Plus, I dont Stream music...I Download, Format and Sync on my Devices!

The Sony NW-A306 is likely to be circa $350 at release. That'll be good enough for most people.
