I’m into Film right now. But I got a buddy who shoots with canon. We been testing out studios these past few months to get a feel of the atmosphere & equipment.

I really like the Aputure LS 600D. Thinking about copping that and a few other things like the backdrops and etc.

This was from a testing shoot we had a few weeks back. Unedited though.

Get a iPad Pro. You can record video with it, you can make beats with it (BeatMaker 3 is awesome), you can edit video with it, (Luma Fusion is great) you can even make quick reference tracks if you’re a writer. Just find a beat anywhere and play it while screen recording. Just gotta press and hold the screen record button and tap to record the built in microphone too. You’ll capture the beat as the system audio and your vocals on top with no latency. Sounds pretty good too but it would just be hook and verse references to send out. This also means you could record a low budget yet high value podcast with it and hop around the internet playing different clips to add context to your topics. Quiet as kept I’m doing this right now to get my content game up

the 600d on sale @ bh this week too. I think it's 1200, adorama has one for 1100 open box... make sure to get either a combo stand or a Quality HD C-Stand. Regular light stands may buckle under the weight eventually.

friendly advice, use Roscoe Gels at the minimum if you use Gels. I heard some horror stories of people using cheap gels and them melting into the 600d COB.

What Sony Cam do u use? Alpha series or FX?
Both, but my FX is my lil shooter. Basically got it because it was time to upgrade my a6500 I was using as a C cam only when needed really.

Currently have A7SIII, A7IV, and FX30

You shoot Sony? What you work with if so?

You on the A series, FS or FX?

honestly, as a long time Apurture user, back to when they made on camera monitors only, Godox outperforms apurture in every category except for name recognition and app control (depending on the model, some have HORRIFIC fan noise levels). I'd choose nanlite over Apurture as well as far as light quality and output is concerned. Apurture customer service and product support sh*ts on everyone else's as well.

I used to rock 2 120ds, and 2 300d's for everything years ago... I gaffed someones short in late 2020 and he rented 4 Godox VL300s before hiring me ... ever since that day, I sold all my Apurture lights and went with Godox 2x VL150, 2x VL300... recently adding Godox M600bi & m600d, Godox Litemons 200bi, 4x Godox TL30's, SZ150R (RGB), FL150R and I'll probably preorder the MG1200bi after the holidays. The 600s allowed me to part with my ARRI lights, they became a hassle to bring on non-pro sets.
Yea I tried to leave the ARRI's out but we know those are the golden standard for pro work, but by pro I mean serious movie/filmmakers, or real time movie sets...although they have a few smaller lights. Price point wise, I've found better value in my Godox's. Sounds like you got a good setup for almost any shooting situation. I've got 2x VL150s, and 1x SZ150R. I've got a few other lights as well, but those are my mains besides RGB tubes I use. That MG1200bi look crazyyyyy tho! lol. Know you gonna enjoy that.

I am very curious on those Rotolight AEOS 2 LED Lights most on the photography end too tho just cuz I shoot hybrid, but they pricey!

by "umbrellas" im a*suming you mean the soft boxes... video is sh*t quality but i saw the aperture logo, looks like a Light Dome II with a grid. With open windows like that, those better be Apurture 600d/c/ or x, although the 600d's are heavy as fu*k and they have their cstands setup wrong, with no fu*king sandbags so I hope they're not 600s.. a 300 or 120d ain't doing sh*t in there with all that excess light, even with the shades at half. Unless they're using heavy ND, but if their Cstands are wrong, I doubt they're using ND. Camera/tripod setup I can't tell what that is, looks to be either a DSLR or Maybe a Pocket 6K.

You a DP or an AC I see you actually know what ou talking about might follow your advice and grab the godox lights myself. With the way tech is now... these lights get the job done, period.
