Has Bron ever gone head up against the best player on a team offense and defense in a game or series?

I tell my sons how mj usually was playing against the weaker wings on the team. That's how he would help on defense and get those blocks and steals. I don't remember a lot of duels where he played offense and defense against the best player on the other team, mj that is. I remember an allstar game with kobe and bron and kobe was trying to get bron to play him and he just wouldn't lol that sh*t looked weak af

There was a time I definitely would have been with you but, after a bit more exposure to different basketball philosophies, MJ should not have been on the main threats on the other team.

1. MJ was the team's number 1 offensive option. The opponent's strategy is often to attack that option to weaken their legs and/ or get them in foul trouble.

2. Even if MJ DID take on the main offensive threat, which was Pippen's role, he's still only slowing a single player. This isn't properly utilizing Jordan's range of influence allowed by his athleticism and instincts.

3. As someone that demanded a LOT of defensive attention, it's wise to get Jordan as many opportunities to get "in front" of the defense as possible. 1v1, 2v1, 3v2, etc. were all scenarios where Jordan could get easy finishes at the rim, get to the line or both.

4. iirc, his attempt to press Magic was a failure but, outside of smaller, shifty point guards, Jordan handled himself very well when placed in those "#1 vs #1" match-ups. He never showed a fear in stepping up to the challenge.

Lol I only saw or rememver this MJ (post 1st retirement) growing up aside from highlights

I cannot fathom what it was like seeing 80s MJ in real time. That sh*t had to be mystical.

Yeah, I wasn't saying mj should've been on the best offensive player on the opposing team. Not at all. He deserved to be on the all nba defense teams he was on bc of his help defense. He was famous for that behind your back block he did. I mentioned it bc somebody mentioned bron going head up on offense and defense against the best on the other team. Mj didn't do that though to compare them
