Best teammate award goes to the benchwarmer with the best dance moves and dunk/3 pointer reactions.

Extra considerations if they enter the game and help pick up a teammate when they fall down.

Who's actually celebrating a "Best Regular Season Record"?

Been a minute since the team with the best record won it all:

2013 - Heat (1st) - Spurs (3rd)
2014 - Spurs (1st) - Heat (5th)
2015 - Warriors (1st) - Cleveland (7th)
2016 - Cleveland (3rd) - Warriors (1st)
2017 - Warriors (1st) - Cleveland (5th)
2018 - Warriors (3rd) - Cleveland (6th)
2019 - Raptors (2nd) - Warriors (3rd)
2020 - Lakers (3rd) - Heat (8th)
2021 - Bucks (7th) - Suns (2nd)
2022 - Warriors (3rd) - Celtics (6th)

Who wants to be sitting in their office, looking at that trophy, knowing that they didn't even make the finals. That's the kinda sh*t that will get you fired.

Take me back to the old days when defenders were allowed to really be physical, and then we'll see just how these guys numbers stack up to previous generations.

The league has been OPEN about their desire to increase scoring, which they have been actively doing since the very early 2000s.

Yet, people want to act like these numbers these guys are putting up are due purely to superior talent, and nothing to do with the NBA makes the league pro-offense.

That wasn't a list of seeds (because seeding is done by conference) it was a list of best Regular Season Records in the entire a*sociation that season (after all, my post was about Regular Season Records).

Hell, I even said this (in that post) before typing the list:

Been a minute since the team with the best record won it all
The Bucks had the 7th best Regular Season Record that season).

i mean, whose fault is it that they give the award to the best?

no shame to Dirk, because he vindicated himself, but every award can be seen as “The Biggest Frontrunner” award.

Dirk accepted his MVP trophy from a locker room.

They can raise a banner the next season (and get clowned for not winning a championship).

Different sport, but that "best regular season record" trophy reminds me of the
. They've been awarding it since the 1985-86 season, but the cool thing about that award is that they also give the team that earns it $350,000 to be split up between the organization and the players.

But I find these stats interesting:

Of the 36 recipients through 2022, eleven (31%) qualified for the Final and eight (22%) won the Stanley Cup (1987, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2013). Of the 25 others, seven (19%) were ousted in the Preliminary round (1991, 2000, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2019), twelve (33%) were eliminated in the Quarterfinal (1986, 1988, 1992, 1993, 2004, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022), and six (17%) stalled in the Semifinal (1996, 1997, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2015).

Only once in the past ten seasons has a Presidents' Trophy winner won the Stanley Cup (Chicago 2013). In fact, four teams during the past fourteen years saw their season end in the opening round (San Jose 2009, Washington 2010, Vancouver 2012, Tampa Bay 2019). Interesting, only three times in the prior 25 seasons did winners suffer such a fate (Chicago 1991, St. Louis 2000, Detroit 2006).
It's gotten to the point where teams might not want to win the Presidents Trophy.
