Some of that sh*t was expensive as fu*k for the 1980's. Shout out to my mom and grandma for affording this sh*t for us on fixed incomes. How in the hell did they do it? Word to layaway.

Takes me back. Aint nothing like them old department store days. Dont get me wrong. sh*t a lot is easily because of online shopping. But back then, it was about enjoying the in-house experience of walking around and looking for what you wanted.

Used to hit up Sears and and Circuit City all the time. Sears had the best hardware tool/gadgets and Circuit City had some of the best audio equipment. Used to got to JC Penny for the clothes.

Matter of fact. I used to roll up to Circuit City so much, soon as my a*s walked through door, the workers would greet me and talk. They already knew what I was going to buy. Memories.

One of the best days of my life. Snatched the Castle of Greyskull and damn near every He-Man. My sister got mad sh*t too My little pony and sh*t like that.
I don't remember everything we got and honestly probably like $200 worth of stuff. But it felt like a billion cause we always heard No or I don't got money like that. Now we up in Toys R Us and they going behind the glass for us. It was incredible feeling and although it never went down like that again I will always be thankful for that day. Thanks Dad.

MY G !!!!….I definitely feel your post, WO….i grew up on Long Island, so Sunrise Mall was the spot…same here, my grandmother had to have hit the number cause she told me and my sister the exact same thing…”Grab What you want”, I went straight for the Nintendo Power Glove and some WWF figures (I vividly remember racing to get the Ultimate Warrior in the pink/green attire)…i felt like every kid in the store was looking at me and my sis…lol, my sis grabbed mad Barbie stuff…Mannnnn to be in Kaybee Toys and see the workers open that glass case, I swear it was a surreal moment, grew up the same way G…hearing “No” ALL THE TIME or the famous “I don’t have no (insert department store) money”…lol….as we get older we get it…but to have been a kid in the 80s/90s…What a Time !!!!
