Been a while since I been to the Chi. Sad to say the times I went there, I've never had the beef sandwiches. I was too fixated on the pizza(deep dish & tavern thin), chicken, soul food, and Mexican food. Tried this small Chicago Beef sandwich place in my city today and it was bless, as I got the beef and cheddar croissant. May do a small weekend side trip in 2023 when it gets warmer either to the Chi or Pittsburgh. Where are some proper beef sandwich places that I can try if I go to the 312? This will be along with the other type of foods mentioned above (yeah I'll have to do a lot of walking and fast before and after my possible trip.

My old lady's family is from Chicago, so we get Portillo's every time we go out there to visit. I'm sure there are other spots there with some fire italian beef but Portillo's is definitely a must try if you ever in Chicago.

You got to go to a neighborhood spot. Hint* they serve Double Cheeseburgers topped with Gyro meat and sometimes garlic fries.
