Because it was pointless on the Dreamcast. I only used the screen to call plays on NFL 2K when I played local multiplayer

This patent doesn’t even seem to have that many features.

It’s also just dumb to have a smaller screen on an input device. You’re supposed to be able to use input devices without looking at them. It’s bad UX just like the MacBook Pro Touchbar.
