McGriff was [unanimously] elected via the first vote of the contemporary baseball era committee, a group tasked with considering modern-day players (1980 to present) who weren't enshrined via the traditional vote taken by the Baseball Writers' a*sociation of America. McGriff will join the rest of the class of 2023 that's voted on by the BBWA. It will be announced on Jan. 24. The committee rejected seven other nominees, including Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Rafael Palmeiro, who are all linked to baseball's steroid era. Bonds, Clemens, Palmeiro and Albert Belle all received fewer than four votes from the 16-member committee. Like with the BBWA, a player needs 75% of the votes to be enshrined.

they need to cut the sh*t with Bonds and Clemens...they let David Ortiz in first ballot, who was a known PED user...but because he does commercials, appearances, and analysis work on your network, and Bonds tell them go fu*k themselves, it's all good...smh...that's why they can't ever play the morals game...

Crime dog was my sh*t back in the day man. Good on him. Glad he's going to the Hall. I remember those days with Mark Lemke, Steve Avery, Mark Wohlers, Marquis Grissom, Andrew Jones when he was REALLLLLLLLLLLLLL young. Those teams were so, damn fun to watch. Ted Turner was spending like a MFer.

That’s how I ended up becoming a braves fan. They had some great Black baseball players.
