Really dear friend of mine was born in Japan. Her father (from South Carolina) was stationed there and met her mother (who is Japanese). She spent the first 5 years of her life in Japan and eventually moved to the states when her parents (finally) got married.
She's the type of person I think of when I hear/read the term "Blackanese" (it's a person of mixed race). Even when Chris Tucker (as James Carter) used the term in "Rush Hour" , he was trying to imply that he was mixed race: ".cause I'm his half-brother...from Beijing. Me and him got the same mama. I'm Blackanese." (Black and Chinese, I guess)....I'm a*suming the Griffin was referencing this line with his joke. I guess I need to expand my thinking. |
