I feel like, Nelly n Ja Rule was perfect to fill that void after Mase left.

You see how poisoned your mind is? It seems like hiphop fans are the only fans you do this sh*t.

N stead of appreciating the greats, you have to say some sh*t like this. It’s always “one gotta go.” Just a bunch of negative bullsh*t.

It’s mostly done to black things. Black movies, athletes, rappers.

Exactly. Ja was on a steady ascension. From Cash Money Click in ‘94 to features on Mic Geronimo’s album to Can I Get A… and so on. Each opportunity propelled to the next plateau.

It definitely wasn’t a “ _____ “ retired and left a void type of situation at all.

Ja was gonna be around regardless....

One: He had the Jay-Z/DMX connection

Two: He had Irv Gotti in his corner who wanted to be Puff with a dash of Suge and needed his own 2Pac. Being on Def Jam definitely helped.

No one asked Ma$e to find God and leave his career behind to hide in ATL

Either he had some issues in the streets or he saw some things behind the doors of Bad Boy that made him spiritually fit.

You can make the argument Mr. Smith album is modern format for almost every rapper.

Yeah he was, but 1998 Ja rule was much different than the Ja Rule in the early 2000's. Rnb-Duets-Ja Rule.... I was comparing that ja from 2000-2002 to Mase.

This applies more to Loon.

Just like Shine, they got their deal bc of how similar they sounded to Mase and Biggie.

They were the Hollywood version of them.
