One thing that really surprised me is the scope and size of the game.

Been playing since day 3 or 4 (was out of town on business when it dropped) not sure how many hours, maybe around 20-30, and it feels like I’m only halfway done.

I definitely thought it was going to be a glorified DLC but with the changes they made to the combat, characters, and the size of the game itself, the only thing you can really say is that the graphics haven’t really improved that much.

But the fact is they managed to keep the continuity between sequels while keeping the game relatively fresh. Not an easy task.

I gotta stop bullsh*ting and get through this first one cuz everything I seen looks amazing.

You definitely need to. Just finished Ragnarok and it had my wife crying at the end. The story was better than the first one and the combat is much tighter.

I'm not mad at anyone saying ER is better, it's a phenomenal game but this Ragnarok story might be the best in a game since RDR2. It's my vote for GOTY

The thing with Elden Ring though is that it has longevity. You can put hundreds of hours into it, especially with the latest update. I just beat God of War with 41 hours in and I feel like my only option is to start again on a higher difficulty.

I hear you but I don’t judge a game off how long you can play it for. a*sassins creed Valhalla took me 100 hours to beat and it was 100 hours of pure mid grade. Ragnarok was a 45 hr play through. And it was 45 hours of pure greatness. Can’t wait for new game plus to drop soon.

I absolutely loved Valhalla. Great story plus the world was open to do whatever you want. Granted, Ragnarok is my game of the year but I can see the hype behind Elden Ring.

When is XXL Magazine making their announcement? That's the GOTY award choice I'm waiting on.
